In an interview with Breitbart, Open Doors US CEO Ryan Brown stated that world dictators and military dictatorships are increasingly following the playbook of North Korea and Communist China, which are aggressively intruding into the lives of their citizens.

One of the groups most affected by this are Christians, who Brown says are ‘easy targets’, and are often considered to be a ‘threat to the state.’

Brown made these statements after the release of Open Door’s annual report on the persecution of Christians around the world, which reports a significant increase in persecution of Christians around the world over the past year.

In its report entitled, World Watch List 2024, Open Doors described North Korea as the most dangerous place in the world to be a Christian.

“Being discovered to be a Christian in North Korea is effectively a death sentence,” Open Doors stated in its report. “Either believers will be deported to labour camps as political criminals, where they face a life of hard labor which few survive, or they are killed on the spot.”
