A Barbados dance group, Praise Academy of Dance Barbados, was recently banned from a competition in that country because it holds to a Biblical definition of gender, Breitbart reports.
For the record, the decision by the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) to exclude the group from the National Independence Festival of Creative Arts was ironically made in the ‘name of inclusivity.”
This is the first time that the group, which has openly promoted its traditional Christian faith during performances over the past 20 years, has been banned because of its beliefs.
The Christian dance group which has won several awards over the years is considering legal action against the organization calling the banning unconstitutional.
The group is being represented by the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF).
ADF attorney Davida Maynard-Holligan stated that the banning sends “a chilling message to Christians on the island, especially young students, who do not believe in and refuse to conform to confusing and harmful gender identity ideology and extreme teaching.”
According to reports, the group was planning to do a performance at the festival on gender issues from a Christian perspective, which undoubtedly contributed to the banning.
