According to an article in the Montreal Gazette, Jewish business owners in that city are being targeted by pro-Hamas supporters, the National Post reports.

The Gazette adds that many of the owners are too scared to speak up about the blatant racism.

The attacks apparently started with videos on TikTok and other social media sites listing Jewish-owned businesses in the city and telling people to boycott them. However, it has since advanced to people now visiting these establishments and vandalizing them.

The National Post provides more details of the vandalism:

The owner of a chain of local coffee shops told the Montreal Gazette that ‘last weekend, they put swastikas on the … menus downtown and they wrote F— THE JEWS.’”

“The owner added that protesters scrawled in permanent black marker “Free Palestine!” on the plates of one of his restaurants in Verdun. The windshield of one of his vehicles was also smashed. The Gazette has chosen not to make public the owner’s name or identify the businesses, as the individual fears potential reprisals.”

It is reminiscent of how the Nazis initially started targeting Jewish businesses in Germany before the start of World War II. That eventually progressed to the slaughter of six million Jews at concentration camps.
