There was another major spiritual breath through in a smaller American community, CBN reports.
This time it happened in Jackson, Mississippi, a small American city with a population of about 154,000.
It was part of an evangelistic outreach featuring evangelist Rick Gage sponsored by 200 churches in the city. Many refer to Gage, who heads Go Tell Ministries, as the ‘small-town Billy Graham.’
According to reports, tens of thousands of people attended the four-day event at the city’s Brandon amphitheater where about 2,000 people made commitments to Christ, including 1,350 first-time salvations.
A month earlier, Gage, a former Texas Tech football coach, held an evangelistic outreach in Baxley, GA where about 1,600 people made a commitment to Christ, the Baptist Press reports.
Though Baxley only has a population of 5,000 people, it is estimated that over 10,000 attended the four-night event held at the Jimmy Swain Stadium.
