Below are a few interesting statements about Hamas, the extremist terrorist group that controls the Gaza Strip located in the Southwest corner of Israel, bordering the Mediterranean Sea.
How Hamas came to power
Former US President, Jimmy Carter, explains how Hamas came to power in 2006:
“On election day, Rosalynn and I visited 25 polling sites, in East Jerusalem and its outskirts, Hebron, Ramallah, and Jericho. It seemed obvious to us and other observers that the election was orderly and peaceful and that there was a clear preference for Hamas candidates even in historically strong Fatah communities. Even so, we were all surprised at the enormity of the Hamas victory.
They won such a clear majority of parliamentary seats (76 of 132 members) that the Fatah government immediately announced their resignation.”
Hamas plainly state their goal: to eradicate Israel in violent means. Their Palestinian voters understand this well. Hamas proceeded a year later, 2007, to murder all their opposition in Gaza, literally throw them off the rooftops, massacre *Palestinians* from opposition parties in the streets.
The writing was on the wall. In blood.
Hamas has not allowed a general election in the Gaza Strip since it was elected in 2006.
One noticeable difference between Hamas and the Nazis
In an interview with The Blaze, Ben Shapiro explains one noticeable difference between the Nazis who slaughtered six million Jews through their death camps, and Hamas:
“At least the Nazis had the understanding that after World War II, as they were losing, they tried to cleanse the record in order to hide what they had done. In this particular case, it’s precisely the opposite. It’s Hamas taking active video of themselves beheading people, murdering, mutilating, raping, and then posting those to social media in order to generate both terrorism and also apparently sympathy in certain sectors of the world community,” Shapiro said.

Hamas’ goal is to destroy Israel
In its original charter, which you can view at this link, Hamas stated that its goal was the complete eradication of Israel.
Below are a few statements taken from the terrorist organization’s initial version of the charter written in 1988, provided by Yale University.
It included this introductory statement by an Islamic martyr:
“Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it.” (The Martyr, Imam Hassan al-Banna, of blessed memory).
Article Seven of Hamas’ charter calls for a continued struggle against the Zionists (Israel) and quotes a verse from the Koran, which states that Muslims will fight and kill the Jews:
Moreover, if the links have been distant from each other and if obstacles, placed by those who are the lackeys of Zionism in the way of the fighters obstructed the continuation of the struggle, the Islamic Resistance Movement aspires to the realisation of Allah’s promise, no matter how long that should take.
The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him salvation, has said:
The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews.
Though the charter was revised in 2017 to remove calls for Israel’s destruction, the new charter still calls for a Palestine state that includes all of Israel’s territory, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip.
How in the world, can Israel negotiate with a terrorist group whose goal is to eliminate the state of Israel?
