After its failed attempt to go green that resulted in skyrocketing energy prices, blackouts, and severe damage to its economy, Germany has decided to restart several of its coal-fired power plants, Reuters reports.

The plants will operate between October and March 2024 and will compensate for expected natural gas shortages over the winter due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Things were additionally complicated when under pressure from Green fanatics, the country’s politicians closed down the country’s three remaining nuclear reactors earlier this year.
