Jesus Healing a blind man

I believe one of the keys to seeing miracles released in our lives is expectation. We should expect the Holy Spirit to heal people. In fact, we should be surprised when He doesn’t.

We see the opposite effect of this in the Gospel of Matthew.

When Jesus came to His hometown of Nazareth and began performing healings, we are told that the people in the community were astonished by the miracles (Matthew 13:54).

In other words, they were surprised. They weren’t expecting them and I believe this lack of expectation, which was undergirded by unbelief, resulted in a lack of miracles in Nazareth.

As he summed up Christ’s ministry in Nazareth, Matthew writes, “And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief” (Matthew 13:58).

We need to start developing an expectation that the Holy Spirit is going to move in power. We should expect miracles because Jesus promised we would perform even greater miracles than He had (John 14:12).

With that as the cue, I want to share two amazing healing miracles.

The first involved the miraculous healing of a blind man, reported by GodTV.

Due to chemical damage, James had been declared legally blind for eight years, but in a recent video posted on Instagram, he had decided to be water baptized at Grace Apostolic Church in Clawson, Michigan.

As James came out of the water, you can see the shocked look on his face, as he suddenly is able to see.

James begins pointing at items, stating what they were, and asking for confirmation that what he was seeing was true.

The second healing reported by AG News involves the healing of Dave Stewart, 63, the senior pastor of New Life Church in Leominster, Massachusetts.

In May 2021, Stewart was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor on his bladder. Despite having several operations, the tumors kept returning.

By December 2022, it had reached the point, that the bladder could not be operated on anymore, and with the cancerous tumors growing back, the doctors stated that the only thing left was to remove Stewart’s bladder and prostate.

It was at this point, Stewart’s daughter decided to share what was going on with her six-year-old son. After sharing the news, she heard her son crying.

When she asked him if he was sad, her son replied that he was crying because of joy as God had said He was going to heal his grandfather.

And that promised miracle was on its way.

A little over a month later, Stewart was scheduled to have his bladder and prostate removed.

In the days leading up to the operation, a deacon at New Life Church, Samuel Ayree, felt impressed by the Holy Spirit that the church leaders should spend seven days fasting and praying for Stewart.

On the final day of their fast, a woman on their leadership council share how she believed that Stewart had been healed.

The miracle itself was revealed when Stewart went in for a pre-surgical biopsy on January 12, 2023, which resulted in the surgeon canceling the surgery. Not only were the tumors gone, but so were the “residual cancer cells” left over from the previous surgeries.

So, expect a miracle.

I did a podcast on Jesus’ healing of a blind man from the Gospel of Mark. Within the story itself, we have evidence that the miracle actually happened.
