Even though it was released on July 4, Sound of Freedom is defying all the odds and more than holding its own in ticket sales.
While most movies experience a dramatic sale decline the longer they are out, the average screen sales for Sound of Freedom are higher than Mission Impossible—Dead Reckoning Part One that was just released this week, Breitbart reports.
On its first day of release, Monday, July 16, 2023, Dead Reckoning averaged $1,225 per screen in 4,327 theaters. On that same day, the Sound of Freedom, that had been out for over two weeks by that point, averaged $1,517 per screen in 3,265 theaters.
Of course, Sound of Freedom does not have a $100 million advertising budget to promote its film, all it has is word of mouth as people who have seen the film tell others it is a must-watch.
However, Sound of Freedom does have one significant advantage over Dead Reckoning, it is being bashed by left-wing media across the country, which only incentives people to watch it.
“There have only been 10 wide-release movies in box office history that have had a second-weekend increase greater than 35% over their opening weekend,” said Angel Studios spokesperson Brandon Purdie. “All of them achieved this milestone during Christmas. Angel Studios is the only studio to accomplish this feat during the summer blockbuster season[.]”
