With governments around the world planning to end the use of gas powered vehicles over the next couple of decades, recent polling suggests that real people are having serious concerns about these goals.

The British government is planning to ban the use of gas vehicles by 2030, and according to a recent poll over 75% of Brits don’t agree with the deadline, thinking it is too rushed, the Daily Mail report.

The government originally intended to ban gas vehicles by 2040 but has upped the timetable twice over the past few years.

In addition, 53% of Brits don’t even agree with the idea of ending gas car usage, much less embracing the current time table.

The Daily Mail reports:

The target is designed to turbocharge the switch to electric vehicles as part of ministers’ efforts to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. But a major audit by this newspaper has uncovered a series of concerns about the policy, including questions over the supposed financial and environmental benefits, as well as whether Britain’s infrastructure is ready.” […]

There are also fears that the rush to ban new petrol and diesel cars could cost hundreds of thousands of jobs and leave households worse off.

The EU is banning gas vehicles by 2035.

Of course, a bigger concern is that the government’s switch to green energy, solar and wind, has bureaucrats warning of electrical blackouts across the country and forcing people to use electric vehicles instead of gas will only make matters worse.
