The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has made another major move to restrict religion in the Communist regime, Faithwire reports.
The CCP is testing out an app that people will need to download onto their phones and pre-register with if they plan to attend church or for that matter any other type of religious service.
According to The Voice for the Martyrs, the app is being test run in Henan province and is expected to spread to other provinces over the next few years.
Christians attending a service at a government-approved church will be required to download the app on their phone, register with the app using their government ID, and then inform the government of their intention to attend a church service.
Of course, the next step will involve government authorities showing up at services and demanding that people show evidence that they have downloaded the app.
This requirement will only apply to government-approved services as it is illegal to attend non-government-approved churches. Christians attending the underground church, which is increasingly going underground after brief hiatus over the past few years, will not be using the app.
CBN also notes that it is illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to attend a church service in the Communist regime.
