North Korea to chair the UN’s nuclear disarmament forum

It’s the UN, so nothing should surprise us. But even the most ardent supporters of this colossal waste of tax dollars must acknowledge that the appointment of North Korea to chair the United Nations Conference on Disarmament is beyond stupid. Over the years, the country’s tyrannical despot, Kim Jong-un, has threatened to launch nuclear attacks on several nations including the US, Japan, Israel, South Korea, Britain, and the rest of the world. Of course, every rogue nuclear nation should have a turn at heading the UN’s nuclear disarmament forum, even if the appointment is only ceremonial. Some have compared this to putting a serial rapist in charge of a woman’s shelter. Breitbart explains: The jaw-dropping chairmanship transition was announced in January and will evidently proceed on schedule, giving the psychotic dictatorship of North Korea four weeks to ceremonially chair the U.N. disarmament body — even though North Korea is under heavy U.N. sanctions for recklessly proceeding with its nuclear missile program. The New York Post (NYP) in January called the announcement “fresh proof of the lunacy of the United Nations” and …

China to be nominated to UN Human Rights Council

In the real world, the last two countries that you would expect to be nominated to the UN’s Human Rights Council would be Communist China and Pakistan. Countries serve a three-year term. Yet, it appears this could be on the verge of happening. And there are even other countries with dubious human rights records that also may be nominated. Breitbart explains: China, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Cuba and Pakistan are tipped to finish top of Tuesday’s election for seats on the United Nations Human Rights Council, prompting disbelief from freedom campaigners and exiled dissidents alike. U.N. Watch, a Geneva-based monitoring group,  said allowing these countries anywhere near the council “is like making a gang of arsonists into the fire brigade.” Saudi Arabia was previously on the council until 2019. Just last month, dozens of nations condemned it before the council over serious rights violations and demanded accountability for the murder Jamal Khashoggi, a Washington Post newspaper columnist who was killed in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in 2018. UN: Stop using offensive words such as husband & wife

The United Nations, courtesy of UN Women, recently sent out a tweet that people should stop using such words such as “husband”, “wife,” “boyfriend,” “girlfriend” and “landlord” because it might offend some people. According to the UN we need to start using gender-neutral language such as spouse instead of husband or wife and owner instead of landlord. What you say matters. Help create a more equal world by using gender-neutral language if you’re unsure about someone’s gender or are referring to a group. https://t.co/QQRFPY4VRn #GenerationEquality via@UN_Women pic.twitter.com/koxoAZZuxq — United Nations (@UN) May 18, 2020 Predictably the reaction was swift with the vast majority mocking the UN‘s tweet. One woman quickly pointed to the group’s hypocrisy asking why UN Women was using the sexist word “woman” in its name? Of course, the slogan of most elitists is: “Do as I say, not as I do.” Another pointed out the obvious problem that in most Latin languages — French, Spanish, etc — every word is gendered. One professor was actually glad to see the tweet stating sarcastically: …

UNESCO’s bizarre motions

Earlier this month, UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) continued to rewrite history, which according to some is the organization’s favorite pastime. UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee declared Israel the “occupier of the Western Wall and Jerusalem’s old city” as part of its annual meeting held in Kraków, Poland July 2 to 12th. With eight abstaining, the 21-member committee approved the motion in a 10-3 vote on July 3, 2017. Israel’s Foreign Ministry described the vote as “sad, needless and pathetic.” Such motions do little more than politicize important cultural and religious sites in the Middle East and further enflames already heated tensions. Predictably the Palestinian Authority jumped on the vote using it as another platform calling for the removal of Israel’s control of Jerusalem, a city that has been a part of Jewish theology and history for thousands of years. Then a few days later in a secret meeting, the Word Heritage Committee continued its rewrite declaring Hebron and the cave of the Patriarchs as endangered “Palestinian” sites. Located 32 km south of Jerusalem …

When national leaders choose to believe a lie

The Nation of Israel and Jews have been part of the Middle East for thousands of years. One of the earliest non-Biblical references to Israel is found on the Merneptah Stele in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, Egypt. The stele, a 10 foot high (3 meters) granite stone monument, was discovered in 1896 during archaeological work on the ancient Egyptian city of Thebes Also called the Israel Stele, it is dated to the reign of the Egyptian king Merneptah (1213 BC – 1203 BC). It outlines his various military victories. The last three lines list his defeat of Canaan including Israel: “Israel is laid waste and his seed is not;” Yet despite this find and thousands of other archaeological discoveries, in a recent UN vote Egypt along with 23 other nations passed a motion that effectively denies any Israeli connection to Jerusalem’s temple mount and Western Wall (the Jewish Wailing Wall). This  motion declaring the Temple Mount a purely Muslim site was passed in a 24-6 vote by the United Nations Educational and Scientific and …

Separating myth from fact on man-made global warming

The United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 21) is going full-bore in Paris. The conference held annually started November 30 and is scheduled to end December 11. It will be the UN’s 21st attempt to have countries commit to binding agreements to reduce CO2 emissions to stop man-made global warming. Up to now, the UN has failed but they are hoping this year’s conference will be different. They are optimistic because of the recent change in the Canadian government, which has been one of the major opponents to a climate agreement. Recently elected Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is fully on board with reducing CO2 emissions. It also appears the terrorist attacks that took place in Paris ten days earlier on November 20th killing 129 people was just too much of a temptation for UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon who is pushing for an agreement. In an interview with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Ki-moon suggested there might be a connection between global warming and increased terrorism. Apparently, the Paris attack has nothing to do with radicalized …
