Why the American Center for Law and Justice is suing a Nevada school board

The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) is representing Candra and Terrell Evans, the parents of a 15-year-old girl who was forced to recite sexually explicit material in a drama class at the Nevada Clark County School District (CCSD). A few excerpts from ACLJ’s news release provide more gory details of what happened in the class [warning some explicit material]: A student in a Las Vegas area school district was forced to perform a profanity-laced, sexually explicit, and obscene monologue before the entire class as a graded assignment. School officials then lied to the parents. Finally, the school board banned the student’s mom from even reading to them the words her 15-year-old daughter had been forced to say in front of her class. We’re taking legal action today to fight back. […] In March of 2022, our clients’ 15-year-old daughter, who will be referred to as R.E., was required to perform a sexually explicit monologue prepared by another student before the entire class. The monologue—which many will find offensive—is below (edited by our attorneys …

Conservative teens are happier and less depressed than Liberal ones, study finds

The victim mentality is an insidious trap because those caught in its jaws are convinced that they are a victim of their circumstances. You are not succeeding because someone else is pushing you down, and until that is changed nothing will ever improve. Unfortunately, the victim mentality has become the rallying cry of the left where people blame men for oppressing women, the rich for oppressing the poor, and the police for oppressing criminals. The list of oppressors and victims is endless. Since these external forces are beyond your control, they ultimately determine your future. There is nothing you can do to change it. Any attempts you make to overcome your circumstance will only result in failure. So why try? Trapped by this mindset, the resulting loss of hope can cause a person to spiral into depression. And not surprisingly this was the conclusion of a study undertaken by Columbia University which found that Conservative teenagers are happier than those who hold left-wing views, The Blaze reports. The study entitled, “The politics of depression: Diverging …

Southern Baptist Convention drops 450,000 members in 2022

According to a recent report by Lifeway Christian Resources, the US-based Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) lost 457,000 members in 2022, dropping from 13.68 million members in 2021 to 13.22 million in 2022, the Christian Post reports. It was the largest single-year membership drop recorded in SBC’s history. Though there was a huge membership drop last year, the SBC reported that attendance at church services actually increased by 5% over 2021 as it continued to recover from the drop in attendance due to the COVID pandemic. It also reported that 180,000 people were baptized in 2022, up 60,000 from the 120,000 people that were baptized in 2021. However, this was less than half of the 445,725 the SBC baptized in 1972, at the height of the Jesus People revolution that impacted both Charismatic and non-Charismatic churches. Study: Half of Chicagoans have witnessed a shooting by the age of 40

According to a recent study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, by the age of 40 half of Chicagoans have seen a shooting, with 14 being the average age when they personally witnessed it, PJ Media reports. The study, conducted by researchers from Cambridge’s Institute of Criminology as well as Oxford and Harvard, tracked 2,000 Chicagoans for 25 years to middle age. The study found that blacks and Latinos, at 50%, were twice as likely to have witnessed a shooting than whites, where only 25% saw a shooting. Not all were just witnesses to a shooting, in the case of Blacks and Hispanics, 7% of those studied were actual victims by the age of 40, compared to just 3% for whites. READ: Half of Those Under 40 Have Witnessed a Shooting in Chicago at an Average Age of 14 Years Old Over the past few years, there has been a barrage of complaints about how the state and the city have taken a soft-on-crime approach to dealing with the criminal element which …

Study: Thousands of cases of schizophrenia may have been triggered by marijuana usage

A study by Danish researchers has discovered a link between Marijuana usage and cases of schizophrenia, The Blaze reports. The comprehensive study looked at the case histories of 6.9 million people from 1972 to 2021 and concluded that THC, the active ingredient in Marijuana, triggers or worsens mental illness and specifically schizophrenia in young men. Schizophrenia is a mental illness characterized by psychotic behavior that can include hallucinations, delusions, confused thinking, and an altered reality and is attributed to a dopamine imbalance in the brain. The researchers concluded that up to 30% of young men (21 to 30 years of age) diagnosed with schizophrenia could have avoided it if they had not used cannabis. This suggests that thousands of cases of schizophrenia may be attributed to Marijuana. The researchers noted when the age group of the men was expanded to 16 to 49 years of age, they attributed 15% of schizophrenia cases to marijuana usage. Though the increase was not so pronounced in females, the researchers concluded that 4% of the schizophrenia cases were also …

Over 25% of Canadians Support Euthanizing the Poor and Homeless

A recent poll revealed the rapid cultural deterioration taking place in Canada. In 2021, the country’s Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, introduced legislation allowing for medical-assisted suicide for those facing serious medical issues. It has since been expanded to allow those who are mentally unwell to receive assisted suicide, and it seems many Canadians are completely fine with this policy. A recent poll conducted by Research Co. found that a significant percentage of Canadians not only supported euthanasia but over 25% supported providing the service for the poor and homeless, Front Page reports. What was particularly disturbing was the views of the younger generation where 40% of those between the ages of 18-34 were comfortable euthanizing the poor. Research Co. provided more details on its poll results: Half of Canadians would agree to allow adults in Canada to seek medical assistance in dying due to an inability to receive medical treatment (51%) or a disability (50%). Fewer than three-in-ten would consent to expand the guidelines to include homelessness (28%) or poverty (27%) as reasons to seek …

Vindication: Woke Arizona school board backs down after Discriminating against Christian University

Emboldened by their wokeness, back in March of this year, the board of Arizona’s largest elementary school, Washington Elementary School District, unanimously voted to ban students from Arizona Christian University (ACU) from fulfilling their practicum course requirement in the district’s public schools. There was ranting and raving at that board meeting about how students at a Christian school would conflict with the diverse and equitable views of the school board. Well, two months later and $25,000 poorer, the board has changed its mind, after ACU, represented by the Alliance Defending Freedom, launched a lawsuit against the school board alleging religious discrimination, The Blaze reports. ACU students will once again be allowed to serve as teacher-students in the district’s elementary schools and the district also agreed to hand over $25,000 in tax dollars to pay for the ACU’s legal fees. In a statement released by ACU, its president, Len Munsil, called the reversal a ‘complete vindication’: “This is a complete vindication of the rights of our students to be able to participate as student-teachers in a …

32 years ago, Jesus told Eric Adams he would be Mayor of New York City on Jan. 1, 2022

Shortly after Eric Adams, 62, was elected mayor of New York City in 2021, and assumed office on Jan. 1, 2022, he began causing waves, particularly among the secularists and atheists, because of how open he was about his Christian faith. This included a speech Adams delivered in February this year when the former NY police officer blamed the lack of prayer in schools for the problems facing our education system. But what recently caught people’s attention was a statement Adams made this month suggesting that 32 years ago God has spoken to him that he would be mayor of New York City on Jan. 1, 2022, CBN reports. “[Thirty-two] years ago, God placed on my heart that Jan. 1, 2022, I would be the mayor of the city of New York,” Adams said in a presentation to the Rev. A.R. Bernard’s Christian Culture Center earlier this month. “But God said, ‘Do not be silent, because if you are silent, then when you get there, people are going to believe you stumble there,’” Adam added. He …

The list of Bible verses that were cited in King Charles III’s coronation?

It’s estimated that 350 million from around the world watched King Charles III’s coronation live from Westminster Abbey on Saturday, May 6, 2023. Who knows how many millions more will watch videos and clips of the event in the weeks following. And as the Western Journal points out everyone watching received a presentation of the gospel and as well numerous Biblical quotes whether they wanted it or not: The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, officiated the coronation and started off the ceremony with the proclamation that ‘Christ is Risen’:. The Western Journal writes: Take, for instance, the archbishop’s greeting at the beginning of the ceremony: “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you.” “Alleluia. Christ is risen,” the archbishop continued. The congregation’s response? “He is risen indeed. Alleluia.” The British Bible Society (BBS) also provided a list of all the Bible verses quoted or cited at the coronation ceremony. This included the following references or citations: READ: All the Bible verses in …

Ancient Astronauts? Are they in the Bible?

When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown. (Genesis 6: 1 to 4) Ancient Astronauts? The Nephilim? Pyramids? The Moa Heads on Easter Island? The Nazca Lines? Ancient Power Generators in the Pyramids? … Search any of these topics, on the Internet, and you will find a huge supply of articles and videos. People love these topics, and I think its popularity is growing. The Nephilim are in the first four verses of Genesis chapter six, in the Bible. “The …

EU approves the forcible closure of 3,000 farms in Holland

The plan by left-wing governments around the world to destroy food production took another step forward when the European Union approved the forcible closure of 3,000 farms in Holland. Along with this was a ban stopping the creation of new farms, The Blaze reports. The Dutch government’s plans to forcibly close farms in their country, if necessary, was given the green light by the European Commission in Brussels as part of its plan to reduce carbon emissions. The Blaze provides more details: If farmers agree to the initial “voluntary” buyout, they will be offered up to 120% of the value of their business. As a condition of the buyout, the farmers must agree not to open another farm elsewhere in the Netherlands or within the EU. Dairy, pig, and poultry farmers will be offered 100% of the value of their farm to shut down operations. The Dutch government plans to offer one-time voluntary buyouts to the farms emitting the most nitrogen with the goal of purchasing and shutting down 2,000 to 3,000 farms. However, if …

Survey: How long do you pray?

A poll conducted by City Square Associates for Skylight and released in conjunction with the National Day of Prayer (May 4, 2023), discovered that 61% of Americans pray daily, averaging nearly 20 minutes, the Christian Post reports There was nearly an even split among the 1,700 people surveyed between when they prayed with 50% stating they have a prayer time in the morning and 55% said they prayed in the evening, just before bedtime. The uneven split of the percentages suggests that some obviously prayed at both times. We know that the prophet Daniel prayed and praised God three times a day, so multiple prayer times during the day are not unheard of (Daniel 6:10). Considering the favorite prayer times were early in the morning or late at night, it is not surprising that 81% of the respondents said that they most often prayed in their bedrooms. But what was surprising was that cars, at 61%, were the second favorite spot for prayer. But this makes sense considering that Jesus was often looking for a …

Social media is harming kids

Mental health experts are raising concerns about the negative impact that social media is having on America’s children, CBN reports. A recent study by CDC of American high school students found several concerns about mental health of American teens: Experts are putting the blame for this on the addictive nature of social media that studies have shown can damage a teen’s self-image and well-being as teens are often comparing themselves to others. “Facebook knows that they are leading young users to anorexia,” former Facebook executive Frances Haugen said in her testimony to a Senate Committee. “When Facebook is asked questions directly as important as, ‘How do you impact the health and safety of our children?’ They choose to mislead and misdirect.” According to Kelly Newcom, founder of Brave Parenting, one of the solutions to this problem is for parents to cut back on the amount of time, that children spend on social media. A recent study has shown a significant improvement in the mental well-being of teens and young adults (76% were female) if they …
