Mob loots 7-11 store in LA

With woke LA County DA George Gascon, recently celebrating a failed attempt to recall him because of his soft-on-crime approach, a group of an estimated 100 people joined the celebration by looting a 7-11 store in Los Angeles. The Daily Mail provides more details: The gang of people ransacked the store while shouting, completely destroying the COVID-19 safety screen that had been set up to grab as much as they could in Los Angeles, California. A group entered the convenience store near Figueroa Street and El Segundo Boulevard, with surveillance footage showing the looters shouting at each other, on August 15. They can be seen running across the store and grabbing drinks, cigarettes, lottery tickets, bags of chips and other items. According to the Los Angeles Police Department the suspects also started throwing items at them, with around 100 people involved in the chaos. Ironically, an LAPD detective commented, ‘We really want to prevent this from becoming a new trend.’ READ: Shocking moment mob of looters RANSACK and destroy 7-Eleven store in Democrat-led LA, leaving …

Study: Children from intact, married, families do better in school

When God created Adam and Eve, He gave a pattern for humanity to follow in order to build a successful society. It was simply this, create families. And God was very specific on what this detailed, it occurs when a man leaves his father and mother, and marries a woman starting their own family: 24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. (Genesis 2:24 NIV) And if we break from this pattern, with such things as polygamy, divorce, single-parent homes, not only will families suffer, but so will the children, and ultimately so does society. With a fallen world, I realize that things happen that are beyond our control, nevertheless this is the pattern that God set at the very beginning for success. And a recent study by the Institute for Family Studies (IFS) has come to a similar conclusion. It found that children do better in school when they are living in a home with both biological parents. Communist China’s economy on verge of collapse?

There have been several reports that Communist China’s economy is on the verge of collapsing. It started when real estate prices started plummeting earlier this year, and has since spread to banking as developers defaulted on their loans. Many banks are either outright refusing to allow their customers to withdraw money, or limiting how much money they can take out. The Daily Wire reports: Chinese developers have lost at least $90 billion in the last year, according to reporting from Bloomberg, as home prices have gone down for the last 11 months. Dozens of developers have defaulted on their debts, and many of them have stopped work on unfinished housing, which has sparked mass outrage and even protests as more than 80% of Chinese homebuyers take out mortgages and begin paying them down before their prospective home is completed. This arrangement, which was once a source of easily accessible capital in a red-hot housing market, has left countless Chinese consumers holding the bag on half-finished homes that may never be fully constructed. Thousands of homebuyers are refusing to pay mortgages …

Under His Feet!

And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church.— Ephesians 1:22 By Rick Renner In the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, Egypt, there is an exquisite display of the treasures of King Tut (Tutankhamun) — the boy pharaoh who died at a very early age and whose tomb was discovered by Howard Carter in the year 1922. I’ve been to Tut’s Tomb in the Valley of the Kings, and on multiple occasions I’ve seen the display of treasures found in his tomb that are on view in the Egyptian Museum. This museum is one of the world’s greatest — filled with artifacts from the ancient world. However, of all the relics on display, there is something uniquely breathtaking about the treasures of King Tut. Each time I’ve been there, I’ve found myself especially fascinated by one group of items in the collection — the walking canes that were used by King Tut. As one might expect, these canes are long and slender and are …

The Atlantic in damage control after comparing the Rosary to an assault weapon

Some suggest, The Atlantic, a left-wing news site, has been going through convulsions by the number of changes it’s made to an outrageous article comparing the Roman Catholic Rosary to an ‘assault weapon.’ After a major backlash, it apparently changed its original headline, “How the Rosary Became an Extremist Symbol” a couple of times, before settling on “How Extremist Gun Culture is Trying to Co-Opt the Rosary.” It also replaced its original photo of a Rosary with bullet holes instead of beads, with a normal Rosary. Breitbart provides more details: Authored by Daniel Panneton, the article, originally titled, “How the Rosary Became an Extremist Symbol,” featured a rosary that had bullet holes in place of beads and argued that the Catholic sacramental had become a tool of violent militants. “Militia culture, a fetishism of Western civilization, and masculinist anxieties have become mainstays of the far right in the U.S.—and rad-trad Catholics have now taken up residence in this company,” he wrote. […] The article instantly went viral, prompting outrage from Catholics who have historically been portrayed in America as …

Does an ancient mosaic point to Peter’s home in Bethsaida?

Archaeologists, Prof. Steven Notley from New York’s Nyack College and Prof. Mordechai Aviam of Israel’s Kinneret College believe they have found an ancient Byzantine church located in Bethsaida said to built over the home of the Apostle Peter. The Bible tells us that Peter, Andrew, and Philip were from Bethsaida (John 1:44). It was also the town that Jesus condemned because of its refusal to repent after all the miracles that had been performed there (Matthew 11:20-25). The site, referred to as El-Araj, is located on the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee. The archaeologists, who had previously found the remains of an ancient Byzantine church, announced that they recently discovered a round Mosaic medallion that was part of a larger mosaic floor in the church’s sacristy. This is the room where those leading the church service gathered to prepare. The medallion contained two lines of Greek script, which refers to the donor, “Constantine, the servant of Christ,” and a petition to Peter who is called, “chief and commander of the heavenly apostles.” This …

Justin Bieber prays and worships God during a recent concert

After being forced to cancel concerts earlier this year due to Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, which resulted in temporary paralysis of his face, mega popstar Justin Bieber is back on tour. Justin recently posted a video of a concert on Instagram, where he openly prayed, inviting the Holy Spirit into the concert and worshipped God in front of the thousands of people in attendance. Charisma News writes: With his head bowed and eyes closed, he declared, “God I pray right now for every fear, every insecurity, every bad thought we have about ourselves or someone else we just release that right now in the name of Jesus.” He was able to share with those at the concert who God is and why we need Jesus in our life, through his bold prayers. In a time when depression is higher than ever, Bieber prayed over the crowd, ushering in the presence of God, “We thank You God, that You are here…I pray against any tormenting thought, any insecure thought, we just give it to You, in Jesus name.” …

The left-handed warriors of the Tribe of Benjamin

According to Sebastian Ocklenburg, Ph.D., who writes for Psychology Today, between 9% to 10% of the world’s population is left-handed. This amounts to about 700 million people worldwide. In his articles, Ocklenburg says that left-handedness is primarily genetic. For example, if both parents are right-handed, Ocklenburg says there is a 7% probability that their child will be left-handed. If one parent is left-handed and the other right, there is a 21.4% chance a child is left-handed, and that increased to 26% if both parents are left-handed. However, pointing to a Dutch study, Ocklenburg adds that other factors can play a role in determining if a child is left-handed, including biological and cultural. Left-handedness is more prominent in certain years, suggesting a cultural effect. Biologically, studies have shown that left-handedness is more prominent in children with lower birth weights. And we see the possibility that both genetics and culture are at work in the Bible’s three mentions of left-handed people. In their article in Biblical Archaeology Review, entitled “Biblical Views: Left-Handed Sons of Right-Handers,” Boyd Seevers …
