Canada issues warning about Chinese social media apps
In a surprising move, Bill Blair, Canada’s federal public safety minister, issued a warning to Canadians over using Chinese social media apps such as TikTok, WeChat and Weibo. Blair made the statement during a parliamentary meeting on China-Canada relation, He stated that China’s communist regime could use information posted on these apps against Canada. Millions of Canadians currently use the three apps.
India: ‘I will not leave Jesus’
A Christian family in the village of Kambawada, India was forced to leave after radicalized villagers demanded they renounce their newly found faith in Christ. Christian Headline writes: A family that recently converted to Christianity was banished from their Indian village this year after they stood firm in their faith and refused to recant. Jaga Padiami and his wife accepted Christ in December after hearing the gospel when a group of Christians visited their home village in Kambawada, India. But in January, they were called to a village meeting and told by the village chief, Koya Samaj, to renounce their Christian faith. Both refused, according to a report by International Christian Concern. Residents then began to harass the couple, and Samaj gave them an additional five days to recant their faith or face banishment from the village. According to a report by the University of Illinois, Chicago’s mayor Lori Lightfoot has lots to be proud. Not only is Chicago one of the most dangerous cities in America, a recent study reported it is also the most corrupt city. Los Angeles and New York came in second and third respectively.
Are You a Fool According to the Bible?

As summed up in Proverbs 1:7, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Are you a fool according to the Bible? Am I? Let’s look at just a few of the characteristics of the fool as laid out in Proverbs. 1) “The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice” (Proverbs 12:15). The fool is always right in his (or her eyes), never willing to take correction, never willing to listen to sound advice, never willing to acknowledge error or wrong. Perhaps we are not this extreme in our stubbornness, but is this our general tendency? Can people approach us easily, without fear? Do we receive correction with humility and even appreciation? Survey reveals that Bible reading increased people’s mental well-being during lockdowns
A recent survey by Christian Research discovered that people are reading their Bibles more during the COVID pandemic and associated lockdowns, and this is not a wasted exercise as many stated it is having a positive impact on their mental health. The age group reporting the largest increase was those aged 25 to 34, where over 50% indicated that they are reading their Bible more often. The survey also revealed that people are using new ways to engage with scripture. While print versions of the Bible still remains popular, Bible apps are being used more often, and a surprisingly 30% reported that they are now listening to the Bible. This growing interest in listening to scripture shouldn’t surprise us because it has its reward as the Apostle Paul tells us that “faith comes from hearing” (Romans 10:17).
