Are we getting technologically closer to the Mark of the Beast?

Over the centuries, Bible scholars have pondered about the Mark of the Beast that the Apostle John mentioned in his vision of the end times written down in the Book of Revelation. He saw that people were forced to take a mark on their hand or forehead and without it, they would be unable to buy or sell. John stated that the mark of the beast revealed an individual’s support of the anti-Christ regime. “It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.” Revelation 13: 16-17 (NIV) Some have suggested that this mark was simply a symbolic identification with the satanic realm, while others believe it was a literal mark revealing a person’s support. The emergence of a temporary high tech tattoo created by researchers at Penn State University may indicate how …

Canada: US military tech allegedly diverted to China

We are just finding out that two years ago, the RCMP raided a Canadian company based in Quebec over allegations it was diverting US military technology to Communist China. The Canadian government has gone to the Federal Court in an attempt to protect “sensitive” information about the raid of a Quebec company that was searched by the RCMP as part of an investigation into the alleged diversion of technology with military uses to China. RCMP officers searched JYS Technologies in Brossard, Que., in 2018. They were acting at the request of the FBI, which was looking for evidence of money-laundering, fraud and the procurement and export of U.S. technology and defense information. Two years later, the federal government is now trying to stop the release of details of that search. READ: Government wants to protect details of RCMP raid on Montreal company linked to China This is not the first time there have been allegations in Canada of stuff being illegally diverted to the Communist regime. 2nd lockdown could have serious mental health fallout: Researchers warn

It is more from the supposed cure is worse than the disease file. With governments around the world initiating second lockdowns because of another wave of Covid, mental health professionals are warning second lockdowns could have a devastating impact on society. The first lockdown impacted people’s mental health and a second one could potentially compound this, leading to a devastating increase in suicides and drug overdoses. Christian Post explains: A second wave of devastation stemming from the novel coronavirus pandemic including soaring suicides and drug overdoses is imminent with the declining mental health of communities, medical researchers warn and it is expected to disproportionately impact the poor, older adults, blacks and Hispanics. The warning came in Mental Health Disorders Related to COVID-19–Related Deaths published in The Journal of the American Medical Association on Monday. […] “While nations struggle to manage the initial waves of the death and disruption associated with the pandemic, accumulating evidence indicates another ‘second wave’ is building: rising rates of mental health and substance use disorders,” the doctors wrote. “This imminent mental …

What if we pray for the wrong thing?

A man named Robert Joamie prayed and asked God for something, and he would probably tell us now that he prayed for the wrong thing. He “asked God to end his suffering, then passed out from exhaustion. When he woke up, he laughed at himself and told God he’d changed his mind” Robert is Inuit, what we used to call Eskimo, and he got lost while hunting. He survived for four days without food, although he did have one can of Pepsi and he ate some wild plants. I think he is more durable than most of us. The good news is that God didn’t answer his first prayer; he was rescued and taken to a hospital. READ: Nunavut hunter survives 4 days on the land with no food, plenty of polar bears Simple faith in God is for all of us ordinary people, whatever we do in our day. God has told us: “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” (Jeremiah …

Study: 85% of Covid cases wore masks?

A recent study conducted by the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) revealed that masks seem to be ineffective when it comes to stopping the spread of the Coronavirus. A survey of people who contracted COVID and showed symptoms for the disease discovered that 85% of them “always” or “often” wore a mask. Investigative journalist Jordan Schatchtel reports on the study: An underreported, recently-published CDC study adds to the pile of evidence that cloth masks or other forms of mandated face coverings only contribute negatives to our COVID-19 problem. The study also displays — despite the constant accusations of widespread misbehavior from public health officials — that Americans are adhering to mask wearing, but mask wearing is not doing us any good. The CDC study, which surveyed symptomatic COVID-19 patients, has found that 70.6% of respondents reported “always” wearing a mask, while an additional 14.4% say they “often” wear a mask. That means a whopping 85% of infected COVID-19 patients reported habitual mask wearing. Only 3.9% of those infected said they “never” wear a face covering. READ: CDC: …

What is behind the opposition to Amy Coney Barrett’s Supreme Court nomination?

As Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation for the Supreme Court enters its second day, those in the media and some politicians are focussing on her religious beliefs as the basis for their attacks. Amy and her husband Jesse are Charismatic Catholics and attend a group called People of Praise. However, this opposition may ultimately backfire as a recent poll conducted by Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy on behalf of First Liberty Institute revealed that 62% of Americans do not believe that Supreme Court justices should be asked about their faith during the confirmation process. The poll of 1,000 Americans in early October asked if nominees should or should not be asked questions related to their faith. In fact, only 30% of those surveyed said they should be asked about their faith with 8% stating they didn’t know. It is interesting because it is becoming increasingly apparent that those on the political left are convinced that a person’s faith should somehow disqualify a person from holding such positions. Those opposing her nomination are equally concerned about her view …

This is the future. Are you shocked?

When I was younger, there didn’t seem to be as much news as we have today. If that sounds strange, rapid change and too much information was predicted, in the year 1970, by Alvin Toffler. His famous book is “Future Shock” and he explained how we will not be able to cope, we will be shocked, by the changes that we make, and the speed of those changes. We are now living in that future, and we should be wise about our new world. It is a dangerous place. READ: Alvin Toffler: What he got right – and wrong Here is some good news; we are not alone, and our plans are not the only way to the future. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11) Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion. (Philippians 1:6)

China to be nominated to UN Human Rights Council

In the real world, the last two countries that you would expect to be nominated to the UN’s Human Rights Council would be Communist China and Pakistan. Countries serve a three-year term. Yet, it appears this could be on the verge of happening. And there are even other countries with dubious human rights records that also may be nominated. Breitbart explains: China, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Cuba and Pakistan are tipped to finish top of Tuesday’s election for seats on the United Nations Human Rights Council, prompting disbelief from freedom campaigners and exiled dissidents alike. U.N. Watch, a Geneva-based monitoring group,  said allowing these countries anywhere near the council “is like making a gang of arsonists into the fire brigade.” Saudi Arabia was previously on the council until 2019. Just last month, dozens of nations condemned it before the council over serious rights violations and demanded accountability for the murder Jamal Khashoggi, a Washington Post newspaper columnist who was killed in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in 2018. Our Most Extreme Choice

What a weird world. The economists are talking about a K recovery from the never-ending Covid economy READ: Worries grow over a K-shaped economic recovery that favors the wealthy. This means that those who are already well off or at least doing okay will do more okay. This is the upper arm of the K. Those who have lost jobs already, no matter how well paying the job was, are represented in the lower arm of the K. In North America this means that the gap between the rich and the poor is getting wider. Because we are an economically driven culture, this means the gap gets wider in areas of understanding and connections as well. The rich already don’t understand the plight of the poor and the poor distrust and at times resent the rich. This is not going to help. Politically, we are moving more and more to the extremes. Left wing anger is destroying conservative lives and values. Right wing thinkers have dug their heels pointing at the violence and immorality of …

Aliens? Have we been visited?

If we want to understand people in our modern world, we should know there is a persistent belief in Aliens who visited the Earth. The belief is that humans now revere those ancient visitors as gods. READ: Ancient Astronauts Advocates of these ideas refer to stories in the Bible; the God of the Bible is from some other place that we call Heaven, and that makes Jesus a visitor from another world. At the root of this belief is the knowledge that we all started somewhere, and our ancestors communicated with beings from another place. We seem to all know that. The Bible record is that we moved away from the truth: “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from His workmanship, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but they became futile in their thinking and darkened in their foolish hearts. Although they claimed …
