Lockdowns causing surge in opioid deaths

Fox News recently did a story on the invisible crisis caused by the lockdowns, surging deaths from opioid overdoses. The article stated that job losses and the social isolation caused by the lockdowns are major contributors to these overdose deaths. It is another in a long list of stories on how the lockdown cure is more dangerous than the disease.

The Spectator: Top ten COVID data failures

Tom Jefferson & Carl Heneghan recently authored an article for the British newspaper The Spectator about the top ten COVID data failures for that country. In my opinion, most of the mistakes related to changing COVID from a pandemic to panic-demic. Here are a couple of The Spectator’s choices: 1) Overstating of the number of people who are going to die This starts with the now-infamous Imperial College London (ICL) ‘Report 9’ that modelled 500,000 deaths if no action was taken at all, and 250,000 deaths if restrictions were not tightened. This set the train of lockdown restrictions in motion. Some argue that Imperial’s modelling may have come true had it not been for lockdown. But this does not explain Sweden. Academics there said its assumptions would mean 85,000 deaths if Sweden did not lock down. It did not – and deaths are just under 6,000. 7) The Vallance graph On 21 September, Sir Patrick Vallance held a press conference where he sought to raise public support for further restrictions. The only graph he showed was one where cases …

Do millennials love tyrants?

According to a study conducted by a group out of Britain’s University of Cambridge, millennials, those born between 1980 and the 1996, are increasingly becoming dissatisfied with democracy. Of course, democracy is not perfect, because people aren’t perfect. However, it is a much better than the alternative – dictatorships. Thankfully, only 40% of millennials hold this opinion. But, what is equally disturbing is that this study showed that millennials are judging people as being morally wrong based on their politics. They are being judged as evil. This is developing a huge polarization in society, because people are no longer allowed to agree to disagree. It is also fundamentally an attack on free speech, and a poll from 2019 reveals that the majority of millennials (51%) are opposed to free speech. Meaning you shouldn’t have the right to hold an opinion different from theirs. And you think you have problems: Other People

How big are your problems? This is the year when things really go wrong, and we all can feel the effects. The man with the most problems, that I know of, was Job. He lost everything that was important to him, including his children and his health. I remember reading his depressing story when I was young because I thought those Bible stories were good for me. It’s a depressing story about human suffering. “What I feared has come upon me; what I dreaded has happened to me. I have no peace, no quietness; I have no rest, but only turmoil.” (Job 3: 25 and 26) I didn’t feel pumped after reading the story, but I did learn something useful. God told Job about other parts of the world, when he complained about his suffering. “Do you know when the mountain goats give birth? Do you watch when the doe bears her fawn?” (39: 1) and “Who let the wild donkey go free? Who untied its ropes?” (v 5) and “Will the wild ox consent …

British Rage: Elderly Covid patients refused treatment?

According to the Daily Mail, British people are outraged after finding out during the height of COVID outbreak in that country, several hospitals were refusing to send older patients to intensive care for treatment over concern they would overrun hospitals. But at its height only 42% of the ventilator beds were ever used. It’s alleged, the country’s National Health System (NHS) developed a scoring system for patients. If people’s number were too high, they would not be sent to intensive care, in some instances the hospitals would not even accept them as patients. People were scored based on their age and frailty. The higher the number the less likely they were to be sent to the hospital. Initially, those over the age of 80 were given a score of nine which immediately disqualified them from intensive hospital care. People in their 60s and 70s were also being refused when their age score combined with scores for other factors drove their number too high. In some instances, doctors also told those in certain age groups to …
