Early in His ministry Jesus said, that, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:5 NIV).

No matter how dark the world gets, it does not have the ability to squelch the light. It could even be argued that the exact opposite happens. the darker it gets, the more distinct the light becomes.

In some ways, this describes Victoria Sinis’ journey to a faith in Christ as it was her encounter with darkness, that drove her to the light.

In 2022, Australian Victoria left her job in marketing to work with an OnlyFans agency, the Daily Mail reports.

She admittedly didn’t know that much about OnlyFans, which is a social media site that allows users to monetize their content. This can include producing content specifically requested by their subscribers at a price of course,

As their popularity grows, the pressure increases for women to create material that they are often not comfortable with such a full nudity.

OnlyFans takes a cut of the payments, and the platform’s popularity is growing as Business Insider reports that its revenue increased by 20% between 2022 and 2023.

The agency that Victoria worked for not only recruited women to work on OnlyFans, it also had other responsibilities.

Once content producers reach a certain stage, they lose control of their subscribers. An OnlyFans agency becomes the intermediary between the content producer and subscribers and handles requests and payments.

Victoria said it was ultimately these sexually twisted and bizarre requests that she saw first hand, which caused her to turn to Christ.

Though these scenarios were just being acted out by the women, Victoria wondered if feeding these sick and often sexual fantasies would actually lead to some desiring to see them fulfilled in real life. She cited one man asking for a woman to be clinging to a ledge of a cliff by her hands, while another person stomped on her fingers.

Though she did not come from a religious background, it was this darkness that led her to attend a church in her neighborhood.

Coincidentally, the first service featured Melinda Reist as its guest speaker. She is the director of Collective Shout, an organization that is fighting sexual exploitation. During her presentation, Reist actually brought up OnlyFans and the problems linked to this platform.

Overcome by what she was doing, Victoria talked to Reist after the service. By the end of the next week, Victoria had quit her job with the agency and took a job at a local restaurant that included cleaning toilets.

But within a few weeks, she joined Reist and was making presentations on sexual exploitation at local schools and eventually started, Creating Gems, that ministers to young girls helping them to understand their self-worth.
