According to two leading experts, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is trying to wrestle control of the world’s food supply, CBN reports.
The two experts issuing the warning are Kip Tom, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations for Food and Agriculture and Gordon Chang who is Gatestone’s China analyst.
Both believe that food could become the next serious world struggle.
According to Chang, China is no longer self-sufficient when it comes to food production and is beginning to experience food shortages in the country.
As a result, the CCP is seeking to gain access to and control of food markets around the world says former ambassador Tom.
“The reality is the Chinese Communist Party goes in through every country in Africa investing in infrastructure and other projects and capturing the country’s natural resources,” Tom told CBN. “But their ultimate goal is to have Africa be the breadbasket for the country of China to feed their 1.4 billion people.”
But CCP’s food expansionist plans are not just limited to Africa.
Chang cited what happened in the US during the COVID pandemic. While Americans were experiencing meat shortages, Smithfield Foods, which is a major US pork producer and currently owned by a Chinese Corporation, was shipping pork to China.
