People are accusing Porsche, the iconic sports-car manufacturer, of erasing Jesus in one of its ads, the Daily Mail reports.

The ad which Porsche has since been deleted from YouTube, featured the video of a woman speeding by Lisbon’s 25 de Abril Bridge.

Now normally, in the background, you would see Lisbon’s massive Christ the King statue known locally as Cristo Rei.

However, in the ad, the statue had mysteriously disappeared, after Porsche had it airbrushed out. However, they did manage to leave the pillar on which the statue stood.

The pedestal on which the statue stands is 296 feet (ca. 90 meters) high and the statue of Christ is 92 feet (ca. 28 meters) high.

The Daily Mail provided people’s comments responding to the deletion:

One user, who reposted the video on Twitter, now called X, said: ‘Hey, @Porsche, why did you erase the statue of Jesus Christ from your video filmed in Lisbon?’

The tweet has been seen by more than two million people, as thousands of comments calling out Porsche flooded in.

One user tweeted: ‘Wow and that’s a beautiful statue to see in person. I drove on that bridge and it’s truly amazing. I’m marking Porsche off my list of future purchases. They should be ashamed!’
