With $20 million in ticket sales this past weekend, Sound of Freedom, the story of former Home Security agent Tim Ballard’s fight against child sex traffickers, has hit sales of $124,748,000 according to Box Office Mojo.
It is an incredible feat considering the negative backlash from many in the mainstream media who are apparently opposed to a movie exposing child sex trafficking.
Based on daily sales, since the movie was released on July 4, 2023, it has been among the top three most-watched movies in America, placing only fourth once.
With the release of Barbie and Oppenheimer, this past weekend, Sound of Freedom came in third on Friday (July 21) and Sunday (July 23), meaning it beat out Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One on those two days. It placed fourth on Saturday (July 22).
Angel Studios was started by two brothers, Jeffrey and Neal Harmon, and is based in Provost, Utah.
CBN reports that the studio has taken a unique approach to determining what shows it will produce.
It sends potential movie projects out to 100,000 Angel Studio supporters, who in turn vote on the projects that they would like to see go forward.
One of the movies that made the cut and will soon be released is The Shift, starring Hollywood actor Neal McDonough.
