G20 calls for a global vaccine passport

At the recent G20 meetings in Bali, Indonesia, the top 20 economies of the world agreed on a draft proposal recommending the adoption of vaccine passports for international travel, CBN reports. The G20 also represents 66% of the world’s population. The passport, which would come in a paper format or through an app downloaded on a person’s cellphone, would effectively prevent anyone who has not been vaccinated for COVID from travelling internationally. However, many are concerned that there would be serious privacy concerns for those who download the app, as it would not only allow governments to track the daily movements of every citizen but even limit their everyday activities. CBN provides more details: The agreement called for shared technical standards and verification methods, including vaccine passports.
