A swarm of earthquakes reported off the coast of Oregon

CNN reports that a swarm of earthquakes hit the US Northwest over a two-day period between Tuesday, Dec 7, 2021 and Wednesday, Dec 8, 2021.

COVID passport microchips being embedded in people’s hands?

CBN is reporting that effective Dec 1, 2021, the Swedish government required a vaccine passport for anyone attending events exceeding 100 people. The Swedish newspaper, Aftonbladet, writes that this requirement has led to several hundred Swedes choosing to have a microchip embedded in their hand that contains a vaccine passport that can be read by an NFC reader. So far, about 6,000 Swedes have had a microchip embedded in their hands since it was introduced in 2014. Since these are memory chips, all sorts of data can be downloaded onto them. These chips can not only hold a COVID passport, but as well, a person’s ID. They can also be used to open doors requiring a card, and even make purchases. CBN writes that the conveniences these chips offer would be the driving force behind their growing acceptance: “It’s a so-called ‘health tool’ The Atlantic predicted would become more popular. “ “‘As with most technologies, the tipping point for implantable chips will come when they become so useful they’re hard to refuse. It could happen sooner than you …

Volcano erupts in Indonesia

I will display wonders in the sky and on the earth, Blood, fire, and columns of smoke. (Joel 2:30-31 NASV) In his prophecy about the coming of the Day of the Lord, the prophet Joel saw columns of smoke pouring into the sky. This is the trademark sign of volcanic activity. And attached to these columns of ash would be blood (people dying) and fire (molten lava). And Indonesians were caught off guard, when Mt Semeru, located on the island of Java, erupted on Saturday, Dec 4, 2021, forcing thousands to flee their homes. The eruption resulted in a massive column of smoke extending 40,000 feet high into the sky. The Daily Mail reports that there has been 14 deaths, and more are expected, as ash covered villages and cars and smothered animals. Images have emerged of vehicles covered in ash up to their roofs. There have also been 56 injuries, mostly burns, and several people are still reported missing. At times, rivers of lava stretched nearly seven miles. Mt Semeru had previously erupted in …

Why was ‘sorcery,’ Biblegateway’s top searched term in 2021?

Biblegateway.com, a website used by tens of millions of people each year to search and study the Bible, just released its most popular searches over the past 12 months. It was a shocking to discover that the most searched Biblical words were terms related to sorcery, that registered a 193% increase over 2020. The remaining top three searches included: ‘Slow to anger’ that had a 169% increase, and ‘In my Father’s house are many rooms’ that saw a 140% increase over last year. Sorcery knocked out last year’s number one search, plagues and pestilence, which obviously spiked because of COVID. Searches for those terms actually saw a 71% decrease in 2021. But it is strange why sorcery would see such a dramatic increase this year. Biblegateway suggests that it may be due to sorcery being derived from the Greek word, pharmakeia, from which we get the English word pharmacy or drugs. In his article on Biblegateway, Johnathan Peters explains: The increase in sorceries is related to heightened interest in the Greek word pharmakeia which, according …

Is a burnt car, a sign of the times?

A recent story in a Canadian newspaper, the National Post, reveals the subtle changes taking place in our culture that Jesus said would be one of the indicators that we are entering the end times. Ironically, it involved a car crash that took place on a Sunday, Oct 31, 2021, when two teens crashed into a tree near Springwater, Ontario, Canada. The resulting crash caused the vehicle to catch fire and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reported that instead of helping the two teens, who were struggling to get out of the burning vehicle, those passing by were more interested in videoing the event. According to OPP spokesperson, Liz Newton, videos of the crash, that ended up on several social media sites, showed several cars slowly driving by instead of stopping and helping the two escape. Fortunately, the two teens survived, when a police officer stumbled upon the scene and was able to pull them out. The two remain in hospital with serious injuries. The OPP added that no charges have been laid against those …

Did the Apostle John see programmable currency?

With digital currency such as Bitcoin emerging, there are several reports of governments stating their intention to introduce digital currencies at a national level, replacing cash. However, many have raised privacy concerns about such a currency, as it will be programmable and could easily be associated with your identity through such things as a social security number. As a result: Governments will be able to track every purchase you make. Governments will know automatically know how much money you have in your accounts without having to go through courts and a bank But there are other concerns about the programming aspect of this digital currency, because not only will governments be able to monitor your spending, they will also have the ability to control it, if they so choose. For example, it could be set to restrict a person’s purchase of a weapon if they haven’t completed the proper application forms, which is not necessarily a bad thing. But it could also be used to limit a person’s ability to purchase other items if the …

Nostradamus: Did he know something about us?

Do you want to know the future? Are you concerned about the way things are going? Who isn’t? You may have noticed Internet talk about a man named Nostradamus. His full name was Michele de Nostredame, and he lived in France from 1503 to 1566. In his lifetime, he published books that seemed to predict the future. Our problem with those books, in modern times, is that his writing was poetic and cryptic, never easy to understand. Today, the writings of Nostradamus are very popular, and many people believe that he predicted the future; and they believe we are now living in those future times. Nostradamus worked as an apothecary or pharmacist, before he became famous for predicting the future. His sideline business has been described as ‘occult fortune teller’ and that is probably why Christians don’t talk about him, very much. His family was Jewish, but they converted to the Roman Catholic religion, apparently before he was born. That might be important because many Jewish people believe in the tradition of “Kabbalah” a type …

Does a court case in Michigan help us understand the Mark of the Beast?

An interesting court case in Michigan slightly pries open a door for a brief discussion on the Mark of Beast, mentioned in the Book of Revelation, that I will take advantage of in this article. In his vision of the end times, the Apostle John said that people would be required to take the Mark of the Beast and if they didn’t, they would be prevented from buying or selling (Revelation 13:17). Though no actual mark is involved, a court case taking place in Michigan has a similar ring to it. According to Charisma News, Country Mill Farms has been participating in an annual farmers’ market in East Lansing for several years. In 2016, the farm, owned by Steve and Bridget Tennes, a Christian family, were banned from setting up a booth at the market because after checking out the farm’s Facebook page, an East Lansing official discovered the family believed in the Biblical definition of marriage. In 2017, represented by Alliance Defending Freedom, the Tennes were able to overturn the ban with the judge …

No Time for Cowardice

By Dr. Michael L. Brown According to the book of Revelation, “the cowardly,” along with a host of other sinners, like murderers and the sexually immoral, will one day be cast into the lake of fire (see Revelation 21:8). But what is so bad about being cowardly? Why is it such a serious sin? The Greek word used for “cowardly” also means “fearful,” and it is found two other times in the New Testament.  As explained by the Greek scholar Celsas Spicq, “Jesus reproaches the apostles for this psychological fear when they are terrified by the storm (Matt 8:26; Mark 4:40), because it involves a moral deficiency: they no longer have faith, or they have but little faith in the presence of the Savior, who has to reassure them.” In contrast, “when one relies on God, there is nothing to fear.” (From his Theological Lexicon of the New Testament.) So, there is something morally deficient in being fearful when Jesus Himself is with you. And in the situation described in the Gospels, when the disciples …

Is Communist China’s new digital currency a sign of the times?

According to a former executive director with the World Bank, Erik Bethel, Communist China is on the verge of creating a digital version of its currency (official called renminbi but popularly referred to as the yuan) that could result in the regime going cashless in the near future. It will be the world’s first government-backed digital currency. In an interview with CBN, Bethel states the regime’s digital currency, similar to the Bitcoin, will be controlled by the country’s national bank, the People’s Bank of China. As part of its testing phase, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) will soon release $6 million dollars to its citizens that can use one of two apps approved by the CCP to make purchases. It is believed that the communist regime is preparing for a full launch of its digital coin in time for the 2022 Winter Olympics. Once this process starts, the CCP will have full access to people’s spending 24/7. Many believe the move is just another step in the Communist regime’s attempt to regulate and moderate the …

‘The Red dragon ain’t no evil’: I am not sure the Apostle John agrees

According to Hong Kong’s Apple Daily, in the lead up to the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) on July 1, 2021, it is flooding the few churches allowed to be open with Communist propaganda and ordering them to celebrate the CCP during services. The CCP has set up two organizations that churches must join in order to be approved. This includes Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM) for protestants and the Chinese Patriotic Catholic Association for Roman Catholic churches. These churches are heavily regulated and monitored by the CCP that has set up video cameras in the churches to identify who is attending and what is being spoken during the services. According to the Apple Daily (AD) several Catholic churches are actually holding masses singing the praises of communism. AD added that in May, Liu Yuanlong, the vice president of the Catholic association, released a public statement endorsing the CCP: “God has chosen the Chinese Communist Party… We have to firmly support the Chinese Communist Party with Xi Jinping at its core. We listen to …

Israel and Gaza: Is this Armageddon?

Do you remember life two years ago? It’s blurry in my memory. If someone said COVID or words like Astra Zeneca, we might have guessed they were speaking another language. Then, a pandemic came on us, and life has not been the same. We are told that change will come on us: “The day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. When they say, “Peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them, like labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.” (1 Thessalonians 5: 2 and 3) That just happened. Everything seemed normal; I remember making decisions and plans for the next few years. I went to a work site one day, and I remember sheets of plastic hung from the ceilings to keep customers, people off the street, away from the workers at the counters. I had a bad feeling about that, and then someone noticed me. The workers looked at me like I was a strange alien creature, and they explained that I …

Does ‘Satan 2’ = ‘Wormwood’?

The Daily Mail is reporting that Russia is in the final testing phase of its latest super nuke that the government describes as invincible. The intercontinental ballistic missile named RS-28 Sarmat, nicknamed Satan 2, weighs 208 tons and is scheduled to be part of Russia’s nuclear arsenal in 2022. The government is planning three test launches of the ICBM this year and states it can travel 11,200 miles and is capable of reaching the continental US over the North Pole and is also capable of launching over the South Pole, in a surprise attack from an unexpected direction. Because of its launch speed and unpredictable flight, Russia states that RS-28 Sarmat will be difficult to shoot down and its payload of 10 large thermonuclear warheads is capable of devastating an area as large as the state of Texas or the combined area of England and Wales. Russia is not the only country with nuclear weapons. The US, Britain, China, Israel, France, Pakistan, India, and North Korea also have nuclear weapons and of course Iran desperately …

Blood moon on May 26, 2021, followed by ring of fire solar eclipse June 10.

According to an article on Forbes, a lunar eclipse is scheduled to make an appearance on May 26, 2021. This will result in what is typically referred to as a blood moon, when the moon briefly turns red. Blood moons occur during full and partial lunar eclipses when the earth blocks the suns rays from hitting the moon. During a lunar eclipse, the sun’s shorter-light wave lengths (blue and violet) bend around the Earth’s atmosphere, leaving only the longer-colour wave lengths in the Earth’s shadow — red, yellow or orange — which in turn gives the moon a blood-red appearance. The event is being referred to as a super blood moon because it involves a full eclipse of the moon and will be visible in North and South America and as well parts of Asia, Australian and islands in the Pacific Ocean. Blood moons and other solar events are often associated with end times events in the Bible. But it is important to understand that blood moons on their own are not necessarily significant, because …

As in the Days of Noah: Chimera?

In Jesus’ warning about the end times, the Lord stated that it will be like the days of Noah (Luke 17:26-27). And a recent story about how a group of scientists is mixing human DNA with Monkey DNA may be a sign we are entering these end of the age days. As we look through Genesis six that provides a picture of the days leading up to the world-wide flood, there are two things that defined this period. First, the world is described as being filled with violence (Genesis 6:11). I think we can check that off. Though I expect, what we are seeing today is just a foretaste of what is yet to come. Secondly, we read that God judged earth because of the marriages taking place between the sons of God and daughters of men that produced what appeared to be genetically superior humans referred to as “mighty men” and “men of renown” (Genesis 6:4). Who were these “sons of God”? Many believe they were actually angels as the phrase is used in …

Satanic attacks becoming more blatant and deceptive

In his vision of the end times, the Apostle John reported two interesting incidents taking place that would have a profound impact on the end times. In the first few verses of Revelation 9, the Apostle John saw a star falling from heaven with a key that unlocked the abyss releasing a horde of demonic locusts on the earth. These creatures described as having human faces were allowed to torment the world for five months. In verse 11, we are told that the king of this army of locusts was Abbadon or Apollyon that literally means ‘the destroyer’. Many suspect that John’s reference to Apollyon referred to the ancient Greek god Apollo, that had the locust as its symbol. Ironically, many of the ancient Roman emperors such as Caligula and Nero looked upon themselves as human manifestations of Apollo. It suggests that this particular demonic spirit focuses on influencing political leaders and both Caligula and Nero initiated horrific persecutions against Christians. Then in verses 13-16 at the sounding of the sixth trumpet, John saw four …

2,000 to go and then the end will come?

In an interview with CBN, Wycliffe Bible Translator (WBT) President John Chestnut said that the COVID pandemic has only slightly disrupted the organization’s mission of translating the Bible into the language of all the people groups in the world. In fact, Chestnut noted that in some instances translation efforts actually increased as workers were not disrupted by other activities. However, other translations were slowed down because of the inability of workers to travel to different regions. So far WBT has translated the Bible into 500 different languages and is currently working on 2,700 translations. At this point, there are 4,700 language groups involving nearly 1.5 billion people in 167 countries that do not have a Bible in their language. The organization’s goal is to have the 2,700 translations it’s currently working on completed over the next four years, with the goal of starting translating the Bible for the remaining 2,000 languages in 2025. Over the years, I have kept an eye on how Wycliffe’s work is progressing, because of the statement that Jesus made in …

More volcanoes awakening

The prophet Joel warned in the days leading up to the second coming of Christ, there would be so many volcanic eruptions taking place in the world, that the ash would darken the sun and turn the moon blood-red (Joel 2:31). I recently reported on three volcanoes erupting in Guatemala and one in Italy, well one more has gone off and another two are about too.

House church found in Laodicean home may explain Revelation 3:15-17

Archaeologists working in the ancient city of Laodicea recently discovered a home in the ruins of the city dated to the first century that also contained a church. This has left some wondering if the Apostle John was addressing the believers who attended this church in his message to the seven churches of Asia found in the first three chapters of Revelation. Laodicea, located in modern Turkey, was the second largest city in Asia during the Roman period second only to Ephesus. It was a very wealthy city as it was part of a major trade route that included Ephesus and Smyrna. In addition, the city was also known for its banking and textile manufacturing. The home was quite large, 2,000 square meters in size, and was located beside a large theatre. The house had 20 rooms, that included the church, baths, a large hall with 18 columns and as well an area from which its owner, who was apparently quite wealthy, operated a business. Though the home was built in the first century, it …

Who or what is the restrainer of lawlessness mentioned by the Apostle Paul?

One of the signs that Jesus spoke about indicating that the end times were near is that there would be an increase in lawlessness (Matthew 24:12-13). The Greek word ‘amonia’, translated lawlessness, refers to a complete disregard for the law. It is a time when there is nothing restraining illegal behaviour. It is similar to a period described in the book of Judges, when we are told that people did what was right in their own eyes (Judges 21:25). But the English word ‘increase’ really doesn’t do the Greek word ‘plethyno’ justice, because it means multiply. Derivatives of this word are used to describe floods. So, Jesus was stating that one of the signs of the end times would be a rapidly rising state of lawlessness. In 2 Thessalonians, the Apostle Paul provides a more detailed explanation informing us that the “mystery” source of this push towards lawlessness is satanic: 6 And you know what is restraining him now so that he may be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at …

Another very close call

It was a very close call, and was all the more onimous considering that the asteroid flew by on Friday, Nov. 13, 2020, if you are into that sort of thing. The Daily Mail reports that an asteroid, the size of a large bus (16 feet to 33 feet), missed earth by just 240 miles (386 km) last Friday. This is the closest an asteroid has come to hitting earth since astronomers started tracking what they describe as near earth objects. What is perhaps equally concerning is that astronomers who track asteroids had no idea this happened until Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System located on Mauna Loa, Hawaii saw it flying away the next day. However, even if it had hit earth, it is suspected the asteroid named 2020 VT4 would have burned up in the earth’s atmosphere. In order for an asteroid to reach earth and potentially cause damage, it’s needs to be at least 25 meters (82 feet) in size and for it to have a global impact the asteroid would need to …

Is the U.S. election in Bible Prophecy?

The United States is completing an election, as I write this, and what an election it has been. The two sides were divided and angry from the beginning, and the results will be almost a tie. When one side is finally declared the winner, the other side will argue about dishonesty and corruption in the voting process. There will be legal challenges, probably for months, and some people will never accept the results. For the record, I am not choosing sides, and I hope everyone involved can find a good future. This election has divided the people of the wealthiest and most powerful country in the world, and the whole world will feel the fallout. There is no middle ground, or neutral position. The nation is divided. This must hurt; the Russians are laughing at the Americans about the election: READ: Russian media serve up smugness, mockery after U.S. vote This is huge. So, is such a world-changing event in Bible prophecy? The Bible says many things about the future, and it focuses on things …

Are we getting technologically closer to the Mark of the Beast?

Over the centuries, Bible scholars have pondered about the Mark of the Beast that the Apostle John mentioned in his vision of the end times written down in the Book of Revelation. He saw that people were forced to take a mark on their hand or forehead and without it, they would be unable to buy or sell. John stated that the mark of the beast revealed an individual’s support of the anti-Christ regime. “It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.” Revelation 13: 16-17 (NIV) Some have suggested that this mark was simply a symbolic identification with the satanic realm, while others believe it was a literal mark revealing a person’s support. The emergence of a temporary high tech tattoo created by researchers at Penn State University may indicate how …

Signs of the end times?

There were threes stories this week that may have ominous ties to the end times. I am not suggesting that they are literal fulfillment of what the prophets saw, but at the very least they reveal how easily it could happen. The first took place in Communist China where according to Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW), the leaders of Huang Fei, a village located near China’s Western border, put up a sign warning people against converting to Christianity. They specifically warned of financial consequences if people choose to believe in Jesus Christ. According to CSW, this could include fines and even confiscation of livestock. CSW also reports that the village of Li initiated regulations that permit people in that village to specifically target and isolate Christians. It is uncertain what the consequences of this targeting would be, but again it’s probably financial. Though this is disturbing news, it also reveals that those in positions of authority are becoming increasing threatened by Christianity indicating it must be spreading. In his vision of the end times recorded in …

Are we entering the ‘Time of Jacob’s Trouble’?

An old saying suggests that if we don’t learn from history, we are doomed to repeat it. So what happens if we don’t remember it? A survey conducted of adults between the ages of 18 to 39 (millennials and Gen Z) by Claims Conference (Conference on Jewish Material Claims against Germany) discovered that nearly 66% of young Americans were not aware that the Nazis slaughtered six million Jews in concentration camps during the World War II Holocaust. And the survey also revealed other disturbing news: 23% though the Holocaust was either a myth or was exaggerated or had no opinion. 36% believed less than two million Jews were killed. 12% said they had definitely never heard of the Holocaust. 48% could not provide the name of a Nazi concentration camp. But what is equally concerning is that in New York nearly 20% of millennials blamed the Jews for the Holocaust. It was Jew’s fault that the Nazi’s slaughtered millions of them in the gas chambers. This type of thinking does not bode well for the …
