World’s most crime-ridden McDonald’s in Ottawa, Canada to close

We have been hearing stories about how businesses are closing in California and other US states because of rampant crime due to Democrat prosecutors-easy-on crime policies, well the trend is happening in Canada, Fox News reports. Apparently, a McDonald’s restaurant in Canada’s capital city, Ottawa, has decided to close down due to rampant crime. It has been dubbed the world’s most crime-ridden McDonald’s. As Charles Bordeleau, Ottawa’s former chief of police explained in his letter to the McDonald’s CEO in 2019: “Officers attend this location on a daily basis to address issues including vagrancy, liquor license violations, illicit drug use, and incidents of violence.” Fox News added that in 2017, police responded to 900 calls from that particular McDonald’s location and along with 843 in 2018. In 2019, the location called police over seven times a day during a two-day stretch in April. And more recently, customers are reporting finding hypodermic needles on the floor of the restaurant. Portland: ‘The city is in peril’

Rains PDX, a Portland clothing door, recently closed its doors permanently. But along with that, the store manager posted a dramatic message on its door entitled “Our City is in Peril,” to explain the closure, Fox News reports. In its letter, the store said it was due to the 15 break-ins in the last year and half and the city’s unwillingness to deal with the city’s rampant crime rate. KATU2 provided the contents of the letter: “Our city is in peril. Small businesses (and large) cannot sustain doing business, in our city’s current state. We have no protection, or recourse, against the criminal behavior that goes unpunished. Do not be fooled into thinking that insurance companies cover losses. Poll: Nearly half of Portlanders fear being assaulted

According to a recent survey conducted by Portland, Oregon’s mayor, Ted Wheeler, 48% of the city’s citizens are fearful when venturing out on the city’s streets. Fox News provides more details: Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler commissioned the survey from local firm DHM Research. Nearly half (48%) of the 500 Portlanders who responded felt unsafe walking alone at night in their own neighborhood. Of those who felt unsafe, 78% told researchers they were afraid of being physically assaulted. […] Portland has seen a sharper increase in violent crime than many other major cities. Homicides in the city increased 83% from 2019 to 2020, while nationally killings increased by an average of about 30%. There were 90 homicides in the city last year, breaking the city’s previous record of 66 in 1987, Oregon Public Broadcasting reported. While cities across America are reporting sharp increases in murders, Miami, is reporting a dramatic decrease. There have been only 28 murders so far this year, and it’s on its way to having the lowest murder rate since the 1930s. In an interview with Tucker Carlson, Miami’s mayor, Francis Suarez, explains why. He cited several things: The city increased funding for police and hired more police, They have lowered taxes, which has resulted in more growth and more jobs, and the city now have a 1.4% unemployment rate. And, oh yeah, when out-of-town rioters came to Miami to loot and plunder, the police showed up in force to nip it in the bud, so they went elsewhere. Poll: High Anxiety in New York City because of rising crime

A recent poll, conducted by Spectrum News NY1/Siena College, found that 76% of New Yorkers are “very” or “somewhat” concerned about becoming a victim of violence, the New York Post reports. The New York Post writes: When asked “How concerned are you that a shooting in which a gunman targets people based on their race, religion or ethnicity will happen in your neighborhood,” almost half (43%) confessed that they are concerned. In fact, a whopping 70% of New Yorkers said they feel less safe now than before the COVID-19 pandemic started, compared to just 3% who said they feel safer.
