With all the bad news happening around the world, flying under the radar are hints that the Holy Spirit is moving in people’s lives.
This past weekend, life.Church, pastored by Craig Groeschel, announced that it had baptized over 2,000 people, CBN reports.
While, the bulk of the baptisms took place at the main church in Edmond, California, all the church’s 44 campuses had baptisms taking place at the same time. This even included a video of one person who had previously been baptized in a home bathtub.
According to Groeschel, this was the largest number of baptisms that Life.Church has performed in its 27-year history.
One of the person’s attending the Edmond service was among the first group of people ever baptized at Life.Church.
“I think we baptized five people,” Groeschel said, “and here we are, over a quarter of a century later, and this is a record weekend that our church has the honor of celebrating with over 2,000 people this weekend getting baptized.”
But what Groeschel said next caught my attention:
“The power of God is moving,” he added.
“We’re not praying for revival. We’re in the middle of one. I thank God for what he’s doing. God is doing a big thing,” Groeschel added.
And there are other hints as well including 4,166 people who were baptized at California’s Pirates Cove on Pentecost Sunday, May 28, 2023, as over 8,000 people from 280 churches watched.
That was followed by 4,500 people who were baptized again at Pirate’s Cove on July 9, 2023, after the SoCal Evangelistic service held the week earlier, where over 6,500 people committed their lives to Christ.
Life.Church was started by Groeschel and a handful of people in 1996 in Oklahoma City, California and since has grown to include 44 campuses in 12 US states which receive a broadcast of the sermon from the main church now based in Edmond.
The multi-site church has an estimated 85,000 people attending services at its campuses on a given Sunday.
