People fleeing lockdown oppression?

According to a recent report by one of America’s largest moving companies, United Van Lines, South Dakota has seen a large influx of people moving into the state. Of course, South Dakota’s Republican Governor, Kristi Noem, was one of the few state leaders that did not implement an oppressive Covid-1984 style lockdown. People still had their freedom and jobs.

When the coronavirus hit, South Dakota made the unusual decision of not locking down and destroying its economy in the battle against the coronavirus. It decided that the best way to fight COVID was protecting those most vulnerable and developing a herd immunity among its citizens, knowing that 80% of the people who catch the virus have minimal to no symptoms. Now, in mid-August when President Donald Trump offered US states an additional top up of $400 in unemployment payments to replace the $600 that came off on Aug 8, 2020, Republican Gov. Kristi Noem declined. No lockdown & here are South Dakota’s COVID numbers

When South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem said she would not put the state under lock down and destroy its economy over COVID, everyone said this decision was a grave mistake. Noem said she trusted the people of South Dakota (population 900,000) to make the right decisions and would not rob people of their civil liberties and freedom to enforce stay-at-home orders. And despite having no lock down, the number of active COVID cases is starting to decline. Here are South Dakota’s latest COVID stats, as of Saturday, May 16, 202, according to Keloland News: Active cases sits at 1,242, down 27 from the day previous. There were 72 new cases of COVID, compared to 99 recoveries Death total for COVID is 44. 36 of the people who died were over the age of 60 — 82%. The total number of people testing positive for COVID in the state sits at 3,959. 2,673 people have recovered from COVID. 304 people have been hospitalized for COVID and only 75 are currently in the hospital, down 5 from …
