COVID-19 doesn’t like the sun

As governments in the UK issue edicts ordering people to stay inside over Easter, one of Britain’s top immunologists, Peter Openshaw of Imperial College, told BBC’s Question Time that Brits should be allowed to go outside and enjoy the sun because the COVID-19 is damaged by sunlight. “Sun is very bad for this virus, it damages its genetic material, so that seems a fair enough thing for me.” Peter Openshaw, BBC Question Time, April 9, 2020 So does this suggest that COVID-19, like the flu, will start melting away once spring hits?
