According to a report in the English newspaper, The Sun, Canadian pop sensation Justin Bieber is preaching the gospel as part of his “Purpose” concert tour.
Sources told the paper, that Justin is holding Bible studies back stage and encouraging those in his entourage, including opening acts, to become Christians.
The unnamed source said:
“Backstage on his Purpose tour, Justin has been sitting down with his opening acts and encouraging them to put Christ before anything. His aim is to convert the people he loves and warn others against the evils of the industry.”
The source added that since Justin became a born-again believer, his life has changed for the better and he is making “better decisions.”
I previously reported on how Justin sang a popular worship song — “I could sing of your love forever” — at a concert in Paris on September 20, 2016 as part of this tour.
Overall the Purpose tour has received favorable reviews. The tour started in Seattle on March 9, 2016 and Seattle Times reviewer Owen Smith wrote, “Nothing could topple the positive quality of the evening overall.”
Entertainment Weekly’s Marc Snetiker had this to say about the tour:
“A concert that shows, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Bieber is back. … Bieber had to prove that his comeback tour is exactly that — a performer’s return to top form, not just a fluke of well-produced singles and hooks.”
Since his commitment to Christ, Bieber’s Christian faith has showed up several times in his performances.
In 2015, LA Times reviewer Mikael Wood wrote that a Bieber concert held at the Los Angeles’ Staples Center on November 13, 2015 reminded him more of a church service than a concert:
“What the vaguely billed event at Staples Center felt most like was a church service.”
That particular concert featured a chat with Seattle Hillsong pastor Judah Smith.
Though we are still seeing the odd negative news on Bieber, it is nowhere near the level of incidents reported almost weekly a couple of years back.
Change is taking place.

So glad! Of course we have all criticized him but we have instead to pray more for more change to happen in his young life 🙂
