DNA research confirms Adam and Eve

In a newly released documentary, The Genetics of Adam and Eve, Dr Georgia Purdom of Answers in Genesis (AIG) says there is compelling genetic evidence showing that humans are direct descendants of one man and one woman as the Bible records. Before joining AIG, Purdom, who has a PhD in genetics from Ohio State University, was a biology professor and wrote a number of published papers in scientific journals including Journal of Neuroscience, and the Journal of Leukocyte Biology. Purdom says those who believe in millions of years of evolution dismiss the story of Adam and Eve as little more than a myth. They believe that humans can not have descended from a single man and woman as the Bible states insisting instead humans have multiple contributors to our genetic code. In her documentary, Purdom looks at the findings of geneticist Dr. Nathaniel Jeanson. Also a Christian, Jeanson, who has a PhD in Cell and Developmental Biology from Harvard University, has used his expertise in the field of genetics to prove Adam and Eve’s existence. Jeanson …

“Another Boy”: Fourth video released exposing Planned Parenthood’s harvesting of baby organs

The Center for Medical Progress (CMP) just released its fourth undercover recording of negotiations with staff of Planned Parenthood. CMP uses actors who pretend they are buyers for a human biologic company interested in purchasing harvested organs of aborted babies. Much of the recent video centers around conversations with Savita Ginde, who serves as Vice President and Medical director at the Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountain (PPRM) based in Denver, Colorado. According to Center for Medical Progress, PPRM does about 10,000 abortions a year. Ginde says in the video they need to frame the possible contract as research instead of business to avoid contravening federal laws that prohibit the sale of body parts for profit. Ginde says: “Putting it under research gives us a little bit of a, a little sort of overhang over the whole thing.” She hints that there is the potential for problems: “If you have someone in a really anti-state who’s going to be doing this for you, they’re probably going to get caught.” When CMP’s undercover teams asks for …

Disabled pensioner Alan Barnes still willing to obey the call of God

Alan Barnes, 67, is only 4’6″ tall and nearly blind. He was thrust into the limelight this past January when he was brutally attacked by a drug addict looking for money. Barnes was rolling out his garbage bins when it happened. He suffered severe injuries including a broken collar-bone. After the assault, Barnes, who came by his disabilities when his mother caught the German measles while pregnant with Alan, was too scared to leave his home. His story became headline news in the media throughout England. People were outraged by the brutality and senselessness of the attack. When beautician Katie Cutler heard what happened, she organized a fund-raising campaign hoping to raise £500 to help Barnes. However, as news spread the donations started pouring in and in a matter of weeks the total hit £350,155. Barnes was shocked. In interviews, he said ‘thank you’ seemed hardly enough for the outflow of generosity. The money allowed Alan to move out of the disability complex where he lived and buy his own terraced home for £150,000 pounds. …

2008 American Idol contestants singing “Shout to the Lord”

Next season will be the last year for American Idol. It started airing on June 11, 2002, and over the years has discovered some incredible talent. In 2008, the Final 8 of American Idol wanted to sing a Christian song in their finale. They chose — “Shout to the Lord” — one of my favorites. I am not sure who was behind the choice of this song, but the group did a tremendous job. Though I did notice that the blonde girl, third from the left, seemed she was going to raise her hand in praise at the 1:15 mark, but then pulled it down when she realized what she was doing. I hope you enjoy it.

Divorce has a negative impact on children.

Studies reveal the negative impact of divorce on children

While the Old Testament Law provided for divorce, Jesus was adamant God only allowed it because of the hardness of people’s hearts (Mathew 19:7, 8). In the book of Malachi, the prophet expresses God’s true feelings on divorce: “‘For I hate divorce,’ says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘and him who covers his garment with wrong,’ says the Lord of Hosts. ‘So take heed to your spirit that you do not deal treacherously.’” (Malachi 2:16 NASV) This verse not only says God hates divorce, but explains one of its byproducts through the phrase “covers his garment with wrong.” The NASV translated the Hebrew word “chamas” as wrong, but the word actually means violence and by implication wrong. A garment was an idiom used to describe the covering and protection the husband provided the family. Through divorce this covering turned from one of protection to one of violence. We see further evidence of this in the Hebrew word for divorce ‘keritut” or more specifically its root “Karat” which means: “to cut off part of the …

Third video alledgely exposing Planned Parenthood’s harvest and sale of baby parts the most disturbing so far

Over the past couple weeks, Center for Medical Progress (CMP) has released videos of their undercover sting operation involving members of Planned Parenthood (PP) on the sale of harvested body parts from aborted babies. In the previous videos, CMP members pretended to be interested parties interested in buying harvested organs. Be warned this third video, perhaps the most disturbing so far, allegedly shows the insides of Planned Parenthood body parts procurement room where harvested organs are displayed. In this video, CMP primarily interviews Holly O’Donnell who claims she worked as a “procurement tech” for Stem Express LCC at a Planned Parenthood facility for six months. Holly not only helped harvest body parts but worked with PP to process them. O’Donnell alleges: “For whatever we could procure, they would get a certain percentage. The main nurse was always trying to make sure that we got our specimens. No one else really cared, but the main nurse did because she knew Planned Parenthood was getting compensated.” She adds that certain parts such as brains and heart were …

Incurable cancer miraculously healed

In April 2014, Doctors diagnosed Leon Freitag with pleural mesothelioma, a rare and incurable form of cancer. Caused by exposure to high amounts of asbestos, it produces cancerous tumors in the pleura, which is a thin membrane of cells lining the lungs and chest cavity. Leon, who serves as superintendent of the North Dakota District Council with the Assemblies of God, was given at most 18 months to live. In face of this devastating news, Leon decided to live his faith in the midst of this trial and believe God for a miracle. He announced his prognosis in a gathering of Assembly of God ministers. He told those in attendance that he was saddened by the lack of miracles in their churches today, but hoped his trial could “stir up faith” for miracles. But Leon also knew that God doesn’t always heal. He added: “I don’t know what the outcome will be. Hebrews 11 is clear – some He delivered, some He didn’t.” Meanwhile, one of Leon’s sons had arranged for his dad to meet …

How much of your tax dollars goes to fund Planned Parenthood?

With a release of a second video showing an executive with Planned Parenthood (PP) haggling over the price of body parts harvested during abortions, many are wondering what really goes on behind the closed doors of the abortion giant. This was the second undercover video released by Center for Medical Progress (CMP) alleging PP is harvesting and selling baby organs. In the most recent video, Planned Parenthood’s Dr. Mary Gatter eventually settles on a price of $100 for complete organs. During the negotiations, Gatter jokes, “I want a Lamborghini.” She even adds, similar to the first video, that PP will adjust the abortion procedure so not to crush the organs. Since the sale of body parts is illegal under federal law, Gatter insists that the price just covers its costs. She says in the tape: “We don’t want to be in a position of being accused of selling tissue and stuff like that. On the other hand, there are costs associated with the use of our space, and all that kind of stuff.” But some …

Athol Murray College of Notre Dame, Wilcox, Saskatchewan: Google Street View

Christian Heroes 4 – Father Athol Murray

To those who met Athol Murray for the first time, it would have been easy to mistake him for a steelworker or a farmer. He was, instead, a priest, one of the most remarkable Canada has ever known. With the Catholic Church and other churches beset with the scandal that was the residential school system, it is good to remind ourselves that there were some who, given charge of young lives, emboldened and enriched them. It was said that Père Murray had “the mind of a Greek scholar, the vocabulary of a dock worker, and the soul of a saint.” Working with the Sisters of Charity of St. Louis, he established Notre Dame College in Wilcox, Saskatchewan in 1927 as a place where young men and women, Catholic and non-Catholic, could come together for both learning and intensive training in competitive sports. Especially hockey, the priest’s favourite sport. The Notre Dame Hounds hockey team has a storied history, with at least 14 Hounds making it to the NHL. Other alumni included Olympic Gold Medallist Delaney …

A woman’s perspective: Mirror, mirror….

Recently, I over poured the milk in my coffee, making a mess on the counter. “That was  . . . ” and just before I blurted out “dumb” something unusual happened.  The words “I love me” with a little giggle came out instead. I was not only amazed but proud of myself.  Over the past six months I have been intentionally working on this.  Catching myself when negative words were about to my take over my speech and attack me. Changing our attitude and the words we say to ourselves is hard work. Why? Because we love beating ourselves up.  It feels good at first — the self-pity and blame.  Long term,  this unhealthy practice is very damaging. “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit,  who is in you, whom you have received from God?  You are not your own; You were bought with a price, therefore honor God with your bodies.  1 Corinthians 6:19 -20 (NIV) Learning to honor ourselves and our bodies through our speech and actions …

Architectural plans ordered for a new Jewish Temple

The Temple Institute, based in the Jewish area of Old Jerusalem, just announced it has ordered production of architectural plans necessary to build a Jewish temple. If constructed, this would be Israel’s third temple, with the previous two destroyed in 70 AD and 167 BC. It follows a year-long campaign to raise finances for the plans. The video above shows the preliminary design of the new Temple. Started in 1987, The Temple Institute (TI) is a non-profit religious organization established to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem. Initially it set out to “rekindle the flame of the Holy Temple” in the hearts of the Israeli people with the goal of ultimately rebuilding the temple. It has already constructed much of the necessary furniture. TI made the announcement of the plans on Sunday July 26, 2015 — the Tisha B’Av holiday — a day on which the Jews traditionally fast and mourn the destruction of the last two temples. It is considered by many as the “saddest day” on Israel’s calendar. Israeli police broke up a plot …

Did Sherlock Holmes see a dinosaur?

Well maybe it wasn’t exactly Sherlock who saw the dinosaur, but his creator — Sir Arthur Conan Doyle — said he did. According to his autobiography, in 1909 Doyle and his wife were on a cruise ship in the Mediterranean when they spotted a creature swimming in the sea. Doyle said it was “about four feet long, with a thin neck and tail and four-marked side slippers.” Doyle was convinced he and his wife had spotted an Ichthyosaurus. Of course, Doyle penned several books, but one has intrigued children for years — The Lost World. In it, Doyle writes about a group of explorers who came across a secluded South American plateau (called a Tepuy) where dinosaurs and humans co-existed. He wrote this book in 1911, two years after the sighting. It seems likely that the spotting of a living dinosaur sparked Doyle’s imagination. If there was one, there could be others. One fear that grips evolutionists is the discovery of a modern-day dinosaur. They have repeatedly stated that dinosaurs, who supposedly died off about …

Where did all the Arctic ice come from?

Each summer, the CCGS Amundsen, a research vessel, navigates the Canadian Arctic doing dedicated arctic research on behalf of a group of universities. The funding is paid for in part by the Canadian government. The plan this year called for a 115 day journey to the North Baffin Island. Researchers on board typically run experiments 24 hours a day. However, prior to becoming CCGS Amundsen, it was an icebreaker for the Canadian Coast Guard and ran under the name of Sir John Franklin. It was converted into a research vessel in 2003 and renamed. This year because of the growing ice bed in the Canadian Arctic, the CCGS Amundsen was forced to stop its research and help rescue a number of commercial vessels hindered by the ice on Hudson Bay. They were resupplying a number of coastal villages in the area. The Coast Guard has two ice breakers in the area but when they became overwhelmed with the growing ice bed, the Coast Guard was forced to redeploy the CCGS Amundsen as an ice breaker. …

What are your secrets?

Police in England were shocked when Melody Casson, 67, confessed to killing her then 18-day old son, Wayne. Melody was 15 years old when she used a cushion to smother her son who wouldn’t stop crying. In 1963, she told police she accidentally killed Wayne by sleeping on him. The coroner ruled the infant’s death accidental. But in February 2014, Casson told police what had actually happened decades earlier. She stated, ‘I can’t take no more of the pain.’ Casson told officers, she had felt guilty about this dark secret that had plagued her for 52 years. According to an article in the Daily Mail, Casson said: ‘This happened when I was a schoolgirl. I’ve been living with this all my life. I knew it was coming. I can’t take no more of the pain.’ However, if a recent survey is right, all of us have secrets that we don’t want anyone to find out about. The survey was released to promote a new movie called “The Woman in Black: Angel of Death” that focuses …

The President’s Silly Speech

There is currently circulating on the Internet a clip from Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama in which the usually sure-footed orator is seen stumbling, repeatedly, over his words. Indeed, politicians have always stumbled on occasion when trying to wax eloquent about the issues of the day. And the media has not always been kind to even the most earnest attempt to speak of those issues. Asked to deliver closing remarks on a solemn occasion, one U.S. President spoke only briefly, responsibility for the principal oratory having fallen to another. Nevertheless, his remarks were savaged by the reporters present. One newspaper said “We pass over the silly remarks of the President — for the credit of the nation we are willing that the veil of oblivion shall be dropped over them and that they shall no more be repeated or thought of.” Another reported “The cheek of every American must tingle with shame as he reads the silly, flat, and dishwatery utterances of the man who has to be pointed out to intelligent foreigners as the …

The Miracle of the Lost Passport

[by Julie Holstein] I am a Canadian believer in Jesus Christ and over the last few years have been experiencing the Holy Spirit drawing me to the land of Israel. A few years back, I went on a tour of the Holy Land and this year, knew I had to return. I was happy to be able to hook up with Marlene, a female pastor evangelist from Regina who had the similar goal to attend the Feast of Tabernacles and to share our faith in Jesus. One day we took a bus to the city of Tiberias, rented a car and toured the Galilee region. My passport, ID and some cash were in a pouch which was fastened around my neck. Upon our return to the Jerusalem, we went through a security check at the bus station. Somehow my pouch either fell off or was stolen from me. When I realized all my identification papers were missing, my two traveling companions and I reported their loss to security and the police. As well we searched …

Atheist Steve Tillman becomes a born again Christian, again

By his own admission Steve Tillman was not a top-level — Stephen Hawking — type of atheist. He was more mid level. He started a couple of now defunct websites including Think Free Nation and Think Free Indiana promoting his atheist views. He also helped found Atheist Analysis. Most of his work was relegated to social media such as Facebook and YouTube where on his atheist internet shows he repeatedly bashed Christians and other religions. Though Steve downplays his significance in the atheist community, nevertheless a group he founded, Atheists of Northern Indiana, warranted a mention in an Indy Star article on anti-Christian bigotry in Indiana. The article centered on a release by the American Family Association (AFA) that pointed out a few groups with strong anti-Christian sentiments in Indiana, particularly those that opposed the state’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act, that offered Christians protection from the growing anti-Christian bias in America. However, when AFA’s Walker Wildmon read the article he noticed a strange thing. The Indy Star pointed out that the one of groups cited, …

Unusual church building in the middle of the Indonesian jungle created after “a vision from God”

In 1989, Daniel Alamsjah, now 67, was working in Jakarta, Indonesia when he received ‘a vision from God’ to build a unique Christian prayer house in that predominately Muslim country. The result is an enchanting structure buried in the middle of an Indonesian jungle. In an interview with Jakarta Globe, Daniel said a few months after the vision he was walking with his family through a jungle 342 miles away near Magelang, Central Java, where his wife’s family lives, when he saw the same landscape he had seen in his vision. “I prayed all night there, and I got the revelation that I must build the prayer house in that spot.” Daniel initially fought building the structure: “‘God, I’m no priest, this is not my place. I’m not a fundamentalist. I’m just a devout practicing Christian,’ I thought to myself at the time. Another reason for my hesitation was financial—I didn’t have a lot of money.” Not a rich man, it took Daniel four years to pay off the $170 needed to buy the property from …

What should we do?

As we watch the dramatic changes taking place in our society over the past five years, many Christians are unsure of what their next steps should be. Christians rights, freedoms and beliefs have been roughly shoved aside. We can’t refuse to bake a $200 wedding cake for a lesbian couple without fear of a $135,000 fine. We are captives in our own land. About 2,600 years ago (597 BC), the prophet Jeremiah had some advice for the Israelis who were ripped out of the comfort of their homes and marched off into captivity in Babylon by King Nebuchadnezzar. His advice to these Jews might be suitable today as our circumstances are somewhat similar. Though we haven’t been dragged off to a strange land with new customs and new language, there have been such rapid changes in our society we might as well have been. Even our language has changed; the word marriage no longer means the same thing it did two years ago. In Israel, false prophets were popping up and telling the Jews their …

Undercover video alleges Planned Parenthood harvesting aborted baby body parts to sell

An undercover video released by the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) alleges that Planned Parenthood is selling the body parts of aborted babies. In the sting,  a man and woman posing as potential buyers meet Dr. Deborah Nucatola for lunch to discuss the purchase. Nucatola is senior director at Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s Medical Services division. Part of her responsibility includes training abortion doctors and performing the procedure herself. In the interview, Nucatola seems to suggest baby parts are for sale, a practice CMP states is illegal in the United States. Further the Planned Parenthood director seems to imply the abortion giant changes its abortion procedures to increase its chances of successfully harvesting body parts that includes lungs, livers, hearts and even heads, that seem to bring the best price. CMP alleges that Planned Parenthood is using the partial birth abortion method to get these body parts. It is a practice considered illegal in most states. In the video, Nucatola says: “We’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver because we know that, …

The Late Choir

All of the members of the West Side Baptist Church in Beatrice, Nebraska knew what time choir practice started. They usually arrived at around 7:15, and practice started shortly after. The evening of March 1, 1950, Pastor Walter Klempel arrived at the Church early to get ready for practice. The sanctuary was chilly, so he lit the furnace, then went home to dinner. When it was time to return, his wife needed to iron his daughter’s dress, so he was delayed. The other members of the choir prepared to leave for the church, but for some reason, each one of them was late Ladona Vandegrift was late because she was having trouble with a homework problem, and she wanted to finish it. Royena Estes and her sister Sadie were late because their car wouldn’t start. They called Ladona for a ride, but of course they had to wait until Ladona was finished her geometry. Herbert Kipf was late because he had put off writing an important letter, and wanted to finish it. Joyce Black was …

The Greek Argument

Most of us know the news about Greece; the nation is running out of money. Creditors want payments on national loans, the Greeks can’t pay, and they need to borrow more. Borrowing more is the issue. They live on borrowed money, and the supply has ended. Many experts are sympathetic and believe the Greeks are being pressured to surrender their national sovereignty. I disagree. Independence was lost when they borrowed hundreds of billions. Now they are dodging the bill collectors. “The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.” (Proverbs 22:7) That truth hasn’t changed in 3000 years. Greeks have demonstrated their outrage for months, and they voted to say “No” to the creditors, as advised by their government. Now the same government is saying yes, offering up items the voters refused to give. Any agreement will be a failure for someone. It’s a mess. And I can explain, I know how this happened. From my comfortable chair in Canada, with my experience leading churches; I can explain Greece. The …

A woman’s perspective: Was Victoria Osteen wrong about worship?

My husband and I were having coffee with friends last September and I shared with them Victoria Osteen’s controversial statement from a video clip of a Sunday worship service where she said: “Do good for yourself, God doesn’t need your worship.  Worship is for you because it makes you happy and God wants you to be happy”. I along with a crowd of verbal naysayers had picked up a stone and hurled it at her. Our friends were silent. Wise friends!  Their silence made me question my tone. Victoria and her husband Joel pastor Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. They have  gathered their share of critics. I turned to my husband for support. He leaned back contemplating her statement.  “I think she is right, God doesn’t need our worship but he deserves it,” he said. I was surprised.  I had hoped he would go along with me. I always believed that worship was for God because He needed it, but does He? Is it our worship that keeps God going day-to-day fueling Him to greater …

Woman states “I’ve had 5 abortions because I love getting pregnant but just not ready for kids”

As evidence mounts that an aborted child feels pain, its easy access seems to have turned abortion into a game for some women. According to a report in the Daily Mail, women are anonymously sharing their feelings about abortion on an app called Whisper. Released in March 2012, Whisper allows users to anonymously post message overlaid on top of images. When a person opens the app they will immediately see six images with the secrets and even some confessions printed on top. It also provides a search feature for message themes. People can then respond to the person’s secret either publicly or privately, though no personal information is shared. It has about 10 million users, and according to reports it is popular among university students. Though most posts display a person’s fears or dreams, some women, taking advantage of its anonymity, are using Whisper to post their abortion stories. Perhaps the most disturbing involved one woman who stated: “I’ve had 5 abortions because I love getting pregnant but just not ready for kids.” Another woman …

Actress Candace Bure stands up for bakery who declined to make a wedding cake for a lesbian couple

To the shock of the hosts of ABC’s The View, on Tuesday (July 7, 2015), former Fullhouse star, actress Candace Cameron Bure stood up for a Christian couple accused of discrimination because they declined to bake a wedding cake for a lesbian couple in 2013. Aaron and Melissa Klein owned a bakery in Oregon called Sweetcakes by Melissa. When the Kleins turned down the gay couple they complained to the government. After a debate that has played out in the media for months, Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries commissioner Brad Avakian has just notified the Kleins he is fining them $135,000 to compensate the lesbians for their pain and suffering. Avakian is demanding the payment by July 13th. Because of threats and negative publicity, the Kleins were forced to close their business months earlier. The Kleins stated they will be asking Avakian for a stay on the fine so they can appeal his agency’s decision to an actual court. It is not known if Avakian will grant the stay and may continue his push …

Was this the Star of Bethlehem?

On June 30, 2015, those familiar with astronomy saw the rare conjunction of the planets Venus and Jupiter — basically these two planets cross paths and for a few days align together giving the appearance of a new brilliant star. The Venus-Jupiter convergence is the most spectacular of the planetary conjunctions. The one at the end of June was 0.33 degrees apart. Some have referred to it as the “Star of Bethlehem” because astronomers have calculated this same conjunction took place in 2 AD and may have been the star that marked the birth of Jesus recorded in Matthew 2:2, 9. “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him. “After hearing the king, they went their way; and the star, which they had seen in the east, went on before them until it came and stood over the place where the Child was.” (Matthew 2:2, 9 NASV) Perhaps as mysterious as the star itself is the Old Testament …

Jewish Sanhedrin to put Pope Francis on trial unless he repents?

According to a report in Breaking Israel News, a Jewish Sanhedrin plans to put Pope Francis on trial September 20, 2015 unless he retracts his statements that Israel is not entitled to Jerusalem and the land of Israel. The newly minted, self-proclaimed Sanhedrin is made up of 71 important Jewish Rabbis in Israel. However, unlike its Biblical predecessors it does not have any legal authority. Earlier versions of the Sanhedrin were used to convict Jesus, though even then it had to appeal to Rome to carry out its sentence (Matthew 26:57 -27:2). Peter and Paul were also put on trial before the Sanhedrin. The new Sanhedrin is a re-establishment of the tradition set up by Moses that righteous men would be chosen to judge disputes in Israel.  “Furthermore, you shall select out of all the people able men who fear God, men of truth, those who hate dishonest gain; and you shall place these over them as leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties and of tens. 22 Let them judge the people at all times; …

Did speaking in tongues save Kathi’s life?

In August 2011, David and Kathi Byker were awakened at 4 am by sounds in their home in Grandville, Michigan. Two men wearing ski masks and dressed in black stood over their bed. Armed with knives, they demanded money. Leaving a cell phone and instructions on how to pay a ransom with David, the intruders kidnapped Kathi (60). With a knife at her neck, the kidnappers duct-taped Kathi’s hands, mouth and eyes and threw her into the back seat of the Byker’s SUV which they stole. As they drove off in the middle of the night, Kathi was terrified about what lay ahead. She believed they would kill her. The two kidnappers eventually met up with a third person — the ringleader. He and one of the kidnappers remained behind to arrange the payment while the third drove off with Kathi in the back seat. Driving with a knife in his hand, he would turn and threaten to stab Kathi if she didn’t stay lying down on the seat. Terrified and not knowing what to …

Bristol, Rhode Island: Angusdavis/Wikipedia

A Most Unusual VP

Bristol, Rhode Island is sometimes called “America’s most patriotic town”, with Independence Day celebrations dating back to 1777. Today, more than 100 thousand people visit the town to participate in its month-long celebrations. In 1932, however, as the nation coped with the Great Depression, the town’s celebrations were more subdued. The largest manufacturing plant in town had closed, leaving a thousand people unemployed and without hope. The owners offered the plant superintendent, Maurice Smith, a good job in one of their other plants, but he refused, feeling a duty to the people he had worked with for so long. He solicited funds to start a new business manufacturing rubber shoes, but the amount he raised wasn’t nearly enough. [Photo: Bristol, Rhode Island/Angusdavis/Wikipedia]

Is this any way to treat your friends?

[by Dean Smith] The way things are going, it seems the last friends left for Israel are Evangelical Christians. Yet, some orthodox Jews seem intent on driving Evangelicals away. According to reports, The Jerusalem Municipality, that runs the city of Jerusalem, will now receive prior approval from a group of Jewish Rabbis before allowing Christian events at the Jerusalem Pais Arena (JPA) — a multipurpose facility that seats up to 11,000 people. This happened because a group of orthodox Jews referred to as haredi accused Christians holding an event at JPA of forcing Jews to convert.

Justin Bieber wears offensive Marilyn Manson t-shirt at Hillsong conference. How will Christians react?

[by Dean Smith] Canadian pop star Justin Bieber comes from a Christian home. He has been in the news the past couple years for several  altercations involving the police both in the US and Canada ranging from egging a neighbor’s house to racing down the streets of Miami. But since then Justin seems to be sincerely trying to turn his life around and has turned to several Christian pastors for help. He recently became involved with Hillsong, a Pentecostal mega church originating out of Australia with branch churches around the world. It is perhaps most famous for its worship music with songs hitting gold and platinum level sales. Justin started attending a branch church in New York city and was reportedly water baptized in a bathtub in June 2014 by New York Hillsong pastor Frank Houston. He has also become close friends with Pastor Joel Houston, grandson of the founder of Hillsong. Joel has taken on a mentor role in Justin’s life. But there have been a few bumps in the road in Justin’s journey …

[by Dean Smith] Chick-fil-A was just awarded the top fast food franchise in America. It topped a list compiled each year by the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI). This was the first year, they included Chick-fil-A in the survey. It not only topped the list but according to ACSI with a rating of 86, the chain received the highest score ever given to a restaurant in the fast food category. ASCI determined the index after a survey of 5,000 people.
